Update from PA enthusiast "oriolat2" on CoasterForce:
Update (again, these are only rumours):

- According to the latest ride description, the ride will be VERY tall (between 75 and 94 meters) becoming Europe's tallest coaster and entering the top 10 of the world's tallest coasters. (I hope it's a giga ).
- The ride will not feature inversions.
- The layout will be over 1.000 meters long and it has been said that it could be going from China to Tutuki Splash (for those familiar with the park this is a HUUUUGE and long stretch).
- The coaster will go under Khan's first drop and over the lift hill (maybe that's why Fumanchu needs to go). Some people talk about an overbanked turn.
- There might be a tunnel or a splash element.

I think we can rule out a flying coaster (shame!) and a DM (no inversions and layout seems to long for that model). The only thing I am positive is that this will be massive.

For now, PA have been really quiet about the project (just like any former projects) but an announcement is expected between June and July (once the school trips are over). I can't wait!
No word yet on whether that's 94 metres from sea level or not...

That sounds pretty awesome! 75m - 94m = 246ft - 308ft, could this be B&M's biggest coaster yet, and more importantly...

...are the seats going to spin? :P

I just hope that PA DON'T close Khan until after Halloween, I'd be so gutted if I missed out on it!

It hasn't been confirmed that it's B&M though has it? Just a strong rumour? It's just that only Intamin have built coasters that high. In fact, after a quick look at the RCDB (and this is crazy), Silver Star is the tallest Mega Coaster B&M have built, at 240ft. Intimidator is 232, and Behemoth, Diamondback and Nitro are all 230. If this is the case, then the minimum height PA's new coaster will be is a nice 2m over SS, but as much as 21m. If it was that high, it'd be higher than Intimidator 305 and that's just mad. As much as I love SS, I always hear better things about Intamin's Mega Coasters/Giga coasters compared to B&M's, although part of it seems to be down to airtime-type preference.

On another note, I hadn't realised that Millenium Force was actually taller than Intimidator 305 (by 5ft). And whatever happens, taller than PA's. :?

WE ARE ALL WITNESSESS

This park need this BADLY. For me, PortAventura is full of poor coasters (aside from DK). They need a major dark ride also to back this up.

My one concern is for Dragon Khan.

From looking at pictures, it's one of the most beautiful coasters in the world. If this dives right through the middle of it, that will be ruined. :|

Never been a fan of rides of different themes interlocking, unless they're either at Blackpool or of course, the classic log flume/powered mack duo.

that was planned to open a few years ago (i think the park even annouced the plans to open it) but was dropped (i think due to the econmy) hopefully its back on track and there are rumours that there will be an addition to the water aprk fro 2012 along with the new coaster.

I wouldn't read too much into those promotional shots - the track towards the back of that image is a mirrored shot of Silver Star's first drop, and the lower section is from an RCDB photo:

DO WANT. Could this maybe snatch Silvia's crown as the world's tallest B&M?
Could this maybe snatch Silvia's crown as the world's tallest B&M?
I was just about to give all the technical specifications and whatnot (with an alleged first drop of 75m, taller than SS entire height) when I realised that blog was entirely (very detailed) speculation.
I present today in Bloggercoaster my contribution to the imagination, as the novelty of 2012 has not yet been formally presented
So all of the technical specifications he's written, as well as the concept art, appears to have been made up. All we know is that it's B&M.

First of all, I'm flattered to create a project that you have seemed real, but unfortunately I have to say that my project is entirely fictitious.

I relied on the fact that it is rumored that the project would be like a B&M hyper-coaster with a different component (V trains, splash, tunnel,...) and I took the example of the layout of Silverstar (one of my coasters fav) to do that fictitious project called The Black Beast.

Moreover, we are already starting to see marks on the ground as well as several marking stakes. Some internet forums even said that there has been a model of the coaster in the park offices and discussed a layout with big lift parallel to Dragon Khan lift hill, first big drop, two large camelbacks, horseshoe curve, another pair of camelbacks (probably with MCBR section here) and a final installment splash above Imperial Square in China, right where we meet now the Canton restaurant.

FuManchu, the flying chairs flat, will be repositioned probably to the Mongolian fair, before the Great Wall of China.

This is the information that we have today, but unfortunately the park does not give more information at the moment.

Greetings,

Jivo - Bloggercoaster
