^Nope, well aware of that. Even on the 'better' one, it's still naff compared with a couple of years ago.

In fact, I'm led to believe that the difference between the 'better' and 'worse' swing is getting larger. The ride system tries to compensate and keep both swinging in time (as if the two swings become too far out of sync it would create some nasty unbalanced forces on the structure), but in doing so just dampens the cycle further.

I think it's the swing nearest the console :)

While that unofficial soundtrack sounds ok, ill agree and say it does not fit the main theme of the ride at at all.

It's too much like a standard piece of dubstep in the structure and composition, rather than a sound track.

This piece of music doesn't fit the theme at all. It sounds like something that was ripped from a DVD menu page for a start  :?

One thing's for sure, I'm not queueing for *insert hours here* listening to that on a continuous loop  :P

Someone posted this over on TPM for the soundtrack

I absolutely love it up until about 29 seconds, then it gets too heavy and up-beat to be on in the background. I really like the use of the church bell.

I'd say it's a lot better then the previous track posted here, Bell chime is good, perhaps a much slower tempo, a soundtrack that'll sound good; quiet and ambient in the background.

A few construction pics are here - http://rideguidegroup.com/site/viewtopi ... 101&p=3042

The important thing from this being that in the 4th picture if you look close enough in the bottom left, the chopper is onsite! :D

I thought the red spots were just something on the trees... Then I remembered it's January so there shouldn't be anything on the trees :P *facepalms*

Well at least it's a better PR stunt compared to the morphsuit one... but still, makes you laugh to see what they'll do to get into the press :P

At least we get nice new shots of the trains and theming, that brickwork will look incredible once finished. (I've never said anything like that about bricks before...)

](*,)

Should be accustomed to cr*p like this by now, but really, it feels just as dumb each and every time...

Stuff like this works though, as much as enthusiasts aren't keen :)

Symmetrical Limb Loss.

What makes it even better is that in the pics of the ride in motion, they don't have any arms at all!!!

Yet by the time they reach the break run, they appear waving their brand new and damaged limbs in the air in glee, after such an exiting flight on the brand new 'Big Dipper' at THORPE PARK!!! ♥

Oh how I love a consistent marketing campaign  :P

Oh, look at the terrible marketing!!! It's so bad that we get to some more pictures of the ride.  It's so tacky that they've done something that actually has relevance to the rides design. It’s not like lose of limbs appeals to Thorpe parks marketing!
[/sarcasem]

Seriously how can anyone call this bad marketing? It's just about as good as any of these PR stunts are going to get. It's relevant, we see the ride and no doubt it will gain the eye of the parks target market.

I think it's great.

I love the fact that Merlin refuses to build wooden coasters because they are seen as unsafe, yet with "safe" metal coasters, they advertise it that it is unsafe and you could lose a limb.

Anyone else think these adverts should come with a warning, because 90% of that article is fiction.
