It just seems to me that its a natural progression to eventually make the seats rotate. I have no other reason for thinking it really, just heard/read speculation about it in recent times.

Its probably not all that likely to happen but I don't think the idea of spinning seats should be discounted yet.

I presume Thirteen was pretty much all Merlin, as early planning seemed to have started in 2008 so a year after Merlin took over.

There is a big difference between spending £10-15 million on a rollercoaster (Thirteen) and £15-20 million (LC12). The extra £5-ish million turns a pretty good ride into something fantastic.
I have been saying for a while that Merlin need to increase their budget for the larger additions by this extra £5 million, as it allows for a much larger budget for theming.

A Wing Rider with a Zero-G-Roll  Excellent!

I think we can finally put to rest the rumours that this will be a 4D. The layout is very low and steeply banked, perfect for a Wing Rider but pointless on a 4D.

This should be a truly excellent design and another innovative layout from B&M. There on a roll at the moment.

Do you think the'll make all the ruined vehicles from scratch, or buy premade scrapped vehicles from a local scrap heap and adapt them? would make more sense to buy scrapped ones, but i'm not sure how expensive each option will be, there seems to be a lot of destroyed vehicles!

Would be great to see some massive craters aswell! Adds to the whole apocalyptic theme!

I suspect it would be cheaper to buy scrap vehicles, like the did for Nemesis. The only exception might be for the plane (looks like a 737?).

I love this Theming, great Idea. I hope they use some Effekts like Fire and Fog.

I can't quite believe what I've seen in these plans, this looks fantastic, it's going to be by far the best coaster built in this coaster for a long long time. They layout looks great, but it's the theming that's taken me back, it is outstanding! I really hope they manage to pull it all off! It's good to hear that it's going to be a Wing Rider as well, they seem like great fun. £18 million is a lot of money, so there should be no reason why this coaster isn't top draw. Full marks to Thorpe and Merlin so far, and I'm confident that they will deliver what we see in the plans assuming obtaining planning permission goes well.

Towers are certainly going to have to come up with something special for SW7, it's going to need to be a well themed thrill coaster featuring inversions for me. It will be hard to top Thorpe's 2012 efforts from looking at the plans.

Think most of what I was going to say has been said. My Gawd this is exciting :boogy:

Queue looks very Thirteen-like, with queueline shop (*grumble*). Interesting point, though, is that there are three queues - Main queue, and two direct-to-station queues.

Main, Fasttrack and SRQ anyone? :joy:
DiogoJ42

Yeah, I noticed the queue line kiosk as well ](*,)

I really hope they pull this off. But I can see how the plane and chopper will be the first thing to be axed if they run over budget 8-[ I hope not, they are the stand out features to me. [-o<

Has anybody heard how they load the new B&M wingrider trains? Furius Baco is pretty much standard loading as the train sits above the track, but the B&M seems to sit to the side of the track, similar to X at SFMM, where the queue splits into two towards the end, for loading each side seperately.
DiogoJ42

Knowing B&M, there will be some kind of crazy folding platform like they use on their floorless designs

Zip containing all planning documents

...in case there's anyone who, like me, gets frustrated by downloading 37 documents separately :P

Have Merlin and B&M got some sort of deal going on? :P Surely their parks have the majourity of B&Ms in the world?

^ Certainly not the majority in the world, but they will have certain '3 coaster deals' etc.

Anyway, from what I've seen, love the theme, love the amount of theming, but then the ride itself is so ridiculously short again. :(
If you go down to the Towers today, you\'d better ride Th13teen. :P

Let's end the "Are the supports sand filled?" debate before it even starts ;)
The ride manufacturer has guaranteed that the proposed ride will be no noisier than Nemesis Inferno, so the predicted noise levels used in the Noise Impact Assessment (NIA) represent a worst-case scenario. Part of the Thorpe Park ride selection process has been to ensure that the ride manufacturer chosen can deliver a smooth track profile, and quality engineering of the ride vehicle and wheel assemblies. The modern process of 3D track design and manufacturing process ensure smooth profile running rails, which are further silenced by sand filing. The wheel assemblies on the ride vehicle are built close to tolerances and have a positive pressure onto the track eliminating shocks transferring during transitions along the rail length. The wheels themselves have a „tyre‟ to absorb any minor imperfections on the running surface. Thus the level of noise emanating from the ride has been minimised.

By the way, anyone else looking at that plane and thinking "Lost" :?
Stop that now. :P
As awesome a Lost ride or land would be, having it at Chav Capital would be like having a few thousand Nikki and Paulos walking around the place.

I have it on good authority that fire explosions and stuff are part of the plans...

The installation of the gas tanks for such effects could also mean the return of the fire effects on Tidal Wave.

Razzle freakin' dazzle!

Nah, there's no way it would be Lost themed. If it were, there would be jungle everywhere, rather than ruined buildings.
It's just the angle of the wing sticking up in the air reminds me of the pilot episode.

A few people around the net are complaining it is too short, but no one has yet said compared to what!

Compared to Oblivion, Stealth, Rita and Saw, this is much longer. It is about the same as Nemesis & Infirno and only about 300ft shorter than Colossus!

So what is this supposed to be short compared too? A Hypercoaster with no theming?!
