Dude, use some punctuation...

Anyway I've heard the Woodie rumour a few times too, but it looks as if it's a dud. I can't remember why though which is annoying #-o

Personally, I'd rather see a woodie at Chessington than Thorpe. I think the next big-coaster will be a B&M Floorless or a Flyer or even a Hyper?

THE PARK NEED ANOTHER B&M!

I think Thorpe really needs more indoor attractions, there is nothing to do if it rains! (other than sit in the dome!)
The next 6 to 8 years are looking VERY family then...!

2010 will be Alton's year so a quiet one at Thorpe I should think.
But i don't understand why they would ever want to do that when Thorpe's aim and move is to target 16 - 30yr olds - Thrill seekers. Why would they suddenly go all family? If they did then that would be very weird

Probably because they've realised the real money to be had is in pleasing everyone, not just one market segment. Something Alton Towers champions over Thorpe Park.

I think eventually Thorpe will come to terms with their mistake, but by that time it could be to late. [-X

I used to be against a Thorpe woodie but I now think it would be a good plan to have something heavily themed on the Megaphobia scale a family-thrill, which is something Thorpe Park really lacks.
AstroDan

There won't be a Woodie at Thorpe in 2010 certainly. I would imagine the next coaster would be 2012-13 time.

I also heard about a woodie in thorpe park, and that there was rapid lake filling going on behind stealth because they wanted it to be in competition with a fiture ride at a britsh attraction...(could it be alton)and this new project called SW6, if this happens having seen the some of the alton plans i think this will definetly be a better ride and alton are in for some hard times as i think many enthusiasts would go for a woodie, the only way AT can bring in the crouds for 2010 is SW6 being a intamin mega............
i don't know the full name but what i do know is that intamin mega lites( i fink thats it0 are the coasters around the world at the moment

p.s sorry for the punctuation
coaster maniac

Enthusiasts probably make up less than 1% of the market. Where enthusiasts flock to really won't make or break a park.

The issue with a woodie going into thorpe is that the stucture would be too dence for the islands. I agree that it would be a good move. I do think a dak ride of some kind would be good as a replacement of the jungle safai. SOmething the whole family can enjoy. They should also utalize the show arean, as every time ive been to thorpe its not in use.

Personally i'd like to see the removal of the show arena together with X:/No Way Out, this would free up alot of space, and if Slammer was re-located this would certainly be enough room for a Megafobia sized coaster. As its quarry land though, i'm not sure of the structural integrety of the land, but it would certainly be something i'd like to see.

As for 2010, i think it's going to be a relatively quiet year. THink about it, for the 2 years after Stealth we saw no major new rides installed at thorpe and i think this will be the same after SAW. Whatever new rides we do see will be small scale. A mediocre flat ride on the site of Fungle Safari is, i think, the best we're looking at before 2012

Adiing a new coaster in space of XNWO would mean te park would have 3 coasters all crammed in next to each other. Not a good look.

With X:NWO already being a coaster... ain't there already three coasters crammed in together?

They could get rid of MHJ Safari and relocate slammer to lets say the arena - they could possibly have enough space for a medium-size woodie. Since CC doesn't have its own area.

And according to Thorpe Park Questions on this site, www.thorpepark.com doesn't count SAW in its own area but as an attraction on its own seperate island.

I don't think Thorpe Park should have a woodie, it would just look ugly at Thorpe Park, esspecally in Canada Crek, I'd rather have one in Chessington or Alton, esspecally Chessington.

They could do with another family coaster. :)

Why would Thorpe build a coaster to steal Alton's limelight when they are owned by the same company?
