Ive been looking at Heide Park quite alot latley as it looks like a great park, scream looks amazing and has some of the best themeing ever but does anyone know why most of their rides are white a green :?: Is it so it blends in with the surrundings better or is it just because their being boring and cant think of another colour.

I personaly think white is one of the worst colours to use as it looks dirty alot sooner than other colours.

I'm not sure, but I noticed it when I was there, the three Huss ride's near Colossos (I think they've been relocated from elstwhere in the park) are all plain white and green - it is'nt an "offensive" scheme, but it does get a bit boring, especially when their SLC and Corkscrew have white track too. ( Long story short: not sure)

I suppose if they painted them though, they'd look out of place with everything else, the corkscrew's neutrel scheme complement's it's magnificent lake side setting well IMO, so that would certainly be a shame for me!

^ That look's fantastic IMO, not so much themeing, but such a great setting and the neat garden's complement it well!

Where as.

Woaw, now tell me is that the biggest space in a theme park ready for development or what?

And is that a tip in the background? if it is i think the parks blending in well with its surroundings.

It seems a goodish park, it just needs to be abit more colourful. The woodie looks awesome but the other coasters on the park look pretty average. The onride video of "the limit" showed it to be pretty ok but nothing mind blowing.

^ The park is really nice IMO, you can get lost quite easily though! Path's lead EVERYWHERE! :D There used to be a car garage where Colossos is now, it was pulled down some year's before Colossos came to be though!

It looks good in that colour scheme, so why change it? although some variety might be nice, it looks good.

I think that Limit should be painted in new colours, something really bold like purple supports and yellow track because next to big loop, they just look the same except ones' inverted, the other isn't. They even have the same style of track. in a scenario like this, you need some contrast

Yer the first time i saw the park i thought it was the same coaster untill i looked closer. The park looks extremely well looked after and greatly themed but it just needs some more colour to the rides. :)

I wish alton towers was as pleasing to the eye as Heide Park. It looks so neat and tidy!

alton towers is just littered with crap! Heide park looks great (not from a theming point of view but from general tidyness and maintainence). If you combined altons good theming and colouring with heide parks tidyness you have an awesome park!

Heide is a lovely park. Excellently landscaped and perfectly maintained.

Perfect combination of thrill, family and scenic rides. Tussauds only gem.

I want to head to Heide mainly to ride Colossus, i've heard some pretty rave reviews for the Intamin woodies and this one is supposed to be one of the finest.

It looks like it could easily be the best park in the Tussauds chain.
Unfortunately it is also the park which is the furthest away.

Heide Park will open 'Desert Race' in 2007. The ride will be an Intamin Accelerator and it is expected to be a approximate clone of Rita - Queen of Speed. The only telling differences between Alton's and Heide's will be that 'Desert Race' will be 6' less high and 33' longer as well as being 1mph faster and 0.1seconds quicker to max. launch speed.

It appears that, with Rita in 2005, Stealth in 2006 and Desert Race in 2007, in spite of all the technical problems, Tussauds appear content to make Accelerator coasters the most common occurence across their parks - with now 3 in operation, Intamin will indeed be rubbing the hands - perhaps Tussauds have a 3-ride discount?

Another one. These rides are becoming a must have for theme parks arn't they?!?!

Umm, quite weird that they chose to basically clone Rita. I suppose it's been popular so. . . . Hmm, maybe they could have added an inversion while they are at it! :D

Oh and make a good queueline for it Heide!

Wow, interesting :o. I certainly never thought Tussauds would clone a ride - tut tut Tussauds!

But it will be good to see what Rita could've been, as this is quite obviously going to be far better themeing wise.

You can easily see why rita has been cloned. It's a simple, short layout, it isn't designed around any specific terrain and people in Germany are unlikely to of ridden of Rita.

I'd rather have a new Rocket Coaster design or better still, a different type of coaster. Rocket coasters are good but they're popping up all over the place now and they all seem a bit samey and unoriginal.

The only really innovative Rocket Coasters I can think of are Xcellarator, Storm Runner, Kanonen and Speed Monster

They actually could of had a Stealth clone...

I think its a bit daft they are cloning Rita, its obviously going to be a popular choice but a Stealth clone probably would of attracted more people.

They are apprently going to be using palm trees and sand to theme the ride.

That sounds like it could really work :-s

I wonder if Tussauds could by a wooden coaster or water ride in 3's or 's for Alton and Thorpe?

Maybe a Rita clone but in my opinion Rita's layout isn't bad, but i suppose that doesn't mean they can copy it! Ah well, i heard its going to be faster than Rita anyone know if its true?

I'm not sure if it's faster but I was told it would be higher that rita, nothing significant though.
Nick

Taken from RCDB:

Desert Race

Height - 62'4"
Speed - 62.1 mph

Rita

Height - 68' 11"
Speed - 61.1 mph

Not sure how accurate they are, but it also lists ride duration for Desert Race as 49 seconds, whereas Rita is a 25 second ride.

The footers that are laid for Desert Race don't show anything different to Rita so it must be a mistake
