Well it was in the news paper that it is opening but has been halted due to the spiders so this is pretty much confirmation  :D

Dreamland in Margate will suffer when this opens...With the Historic Park meant to open in 2-3 years, Paramount would just destroy that!

An article about how traffic issues could have an impact on the development - everyone hates the Dartford Crossing!

Here's a small update on the Paramount Park in Kent - a proposal for a renewable power plant is being objected over fears that it could impact the potential Paramount Park nearby. Here's the link to the article I found:

Is this park going to have a theme park as in roller coasters and flats or just water park, concert venues etc;?

Looking back at the original article by the Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -jobs.html), it doesn't mention roller coasters as such, but I can quote from it:

"The 'world-class' venue will feature Europe’s largest indoor water park, theatres, live music venues, attractions, cinemas, restaurants, event space and hotels and, if given the green light, will be twice the size of Olympic Park in East London."

If it's supposed to rival Disneyland, then one can hope that there will also be roller coasters, at the moment however, I think we need to focus more on whether the project will actually go ahead :P

Tony Sefton said in an article earlier in the year that the park will have rollercoasters.
Speaking about the theme park, Mr Sefton said: “The park will have more rides and shows per hour than any other studio park in the world.”

“There will be five first class rollercoaster’s,” he added.

Another update on the Paramount Park:

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/gravesend_m ... park-7661/

The owners of Ebbsfleet United have made an investment into the proposed park, which has been said to be a 7 figure sum. They're hoping this will encourage further investment, so we'll have to see what happens  8)

A small update - a Thames crossing proposal has been abandoned that would have cut through the site, a positive step forward for the project :)

Edit: Found a page giving some more information about the proposal that I thought others may find interesting :)

Obviously no one is 100% sure but to me it looks like a huge wooden coaster in the picture of the very far left! What do you think??

We have to keep an open mind here as so many theme parks in this country have not got off the ground for so many reasons, no matter how much money was thrown at them. I do seriously hope this is built as it will save a lot of people from having to go to America to experience a quality theme park. In this country there is just no real competition, so the parks can often get away with doing the minimum and people assume the park is brilliant even when there is rubbish over the floor, rides break down all the time and the whole place needs a refurb - the guests often don't realise how well a park can be run.

This will hopefully ensure Merlin do up their game and we should really see better parks and they will all have to compete with each other.

A 7 figure sum at most is £9,999,999 so only another £3,490,000,001 to go! Maybe we should start a totalizer
