Information relating to the country's second largest funfair, in Nottingham.

Poor show this year yet again with many many duplication's, the absence of any Giant Wheel. No mine train from Mellors attending either.

Lets get the newcomers out the way first S&D Leisure present their Technical Park Loopfighter "Atmosfear" they are here along with their huge Reverse Bungee. The second newcomer is presenting a ride not seen for 20yrs on the Goose Fair .. A Skid. Absolutely awesome rides which you control yourself. Prime example presented by Jimmy Bowry.

Now lets get the duplication's out the way, 2 sets of Horses, 3 Miamis, 5 Twists, 5 Frogs and an outstanding 8! sets of dodgems. Moreover Proctors, Cox, Harris and Holland present 4 Waltzers.

Other rides notable are Extreme, KMG Superspin, RockRage is back again along with Noyces's Superstar ride.

Two ARM superbowls again from Wilson and Collins. And the Starflyer is back (not Mellors one, as that's going to Hull)

Only one KMG Booster this year, from Willie Wilson, and x2 Wild Mouse Coasters (both Reverchon)

Huss fans can get chance to ride Wessledines Huss UFO "Vertical Limit" and the crowd stopping "Crazy Bulls" is also back.

More big hitters include x2 Freakouts (one KMG machine, one Technical Park), Stargate and the aforementioned Atmosfear. Completing the line up is Alex Crows TopBuzz2 and Warren James's Technical Park Take Off.

Overall not great compared to some years back, way too many duplication's yet again and with absences from M&D Taylor's rides and Air from Abie Danter. (all at Hull)

It's been getting worse and worse each year for the last few years now. No doubt due to the ever increasing standing costs from Nottingham City council.

There was a rumour being batted around a few years ago that the Showman's Guild were looking to buy a piece of land just outside the city to relocate the fair. Allowing it to be larger and also more cost effective for the showmen. Though, the Goose Fair is pretty iconic and a relocation may do more damage than good!

Ground rent is stupidly cheap at Nottingham - almost to the point where 3/4 full rides pays for the whole time they are there. Its got nothing to do with rent.

Its probably due to the fact Nottingham is a hell hole.
