Does anyone know if the Ghost train opens with the rest of the park, now it's officially open, at 9:30/10:00am when the gates open, or does it have a staggered opening?

It's currently on a staggered opening at around 11am due to the time it takes to setup the VR headsets.

That's great! How do they get the GP to leave if the rides stay open?

If it works like Summer Nights have done so previously, guests coming for the event get giving a wristband then, at ride close, a staff member stands at the entrance and only allows guests with the wristbands to join the queue.

Fastrack isn't currently available for Derren Brown's Ghost Train. :)

I'm going on Tuesday and hoping that it's only this busy as it's a Saturday. Not sure if I'd wait in a 2 hour queue for it

That's clever, summer Nights sounded great, pity I missed that.

Are they likely to charge for this event?

This information coming from managers on site at Thorpe is interesting.

This would make sense considering there are believed to be 3 trains, one ending in each perhaps?

Of course this may not be correct - so take it with a pinch of salt! :)

Rode it today. 11am opening but the queue opened at 10.45. They let people queue in the overflow bit from park opening. My spoiler free verdict was that it was an interesting and unexpected experience but I was much less impressed and frightened than it sounds like the rest of the carriage was.

Spoiler
I've not been on it but the Victorian carriage you see as many guess is but a shell, and there is a ride vehicle within the shell on a track, think Th13teen when it drops its still secured to a piece of track and then on DBGT its on a transit system which moves it into the theatrical mid-way part of the attraction while your experiencing the first VR part and on the second sit down VR segment your moved back into the shell and exit.

So people queuing or waiting to board will never see the suspended Victorian train move therefore wonder how they arrived somewhere totally different from where they boarded.

Spoiler
You disembark back in the suspended carriage, you can actually see them get off just before you board :P

Spoiler
the way I believe it moves is this :

There are 2 tracks parallel to each other, connected by a turntable at each end.

You board the train in the same place you depart. Once boarded, the train moves down the track and ends on the first turntable. Whilst you are in the live action section, the train is turned round onto the return track. You then board the same train you were on and move back into the first room, onto the 2nd turntable. The train is then turned, with you still inside, back to the original starting position and you disembark.

This system can support up to 3 trains, which is what many people believe they are running. It would also explain that strange turning sensation at the end of the 2nd vr segment where you fall into the pit.

It explains the gas segment many people have been experiencing, as I would guess that this occurs when the train is on the turntable ready to move round, but there is another train on the other side of the turntable that needs to move off first.

Is there a fast track line or would VIPs go to the disabled queue?

The attraction has main, fastrack and disable queuelines. Although Fastrack isn't being sold, the park were using the Fastrack line for VIP pass holders during the technical rehearsals.
