Granted, but it sort of feels like they pressed the 'complete coaster' button on RCT3. If they made a more meaningful layout after it, they could have a longer, better  ride and perfect three train operation

Nemesis finale is superb! The corkscrew!

Ok scratch the Nemesis example. I mainly used it because I knew everyone could relate to it :P

What I should have said is that this is like a bonus stretch of track after the ride has properly finished. Does the lack of a more powerful finish reduce the quality of the experience? Yes. But out of the other coasters in this group it’s not the only one to lack a good finish and definitely one of the strongest opening acts.

I haven't really discussed my previous decisions but hey its the final.

10 - Piraten: It doesn't seem to do anything Expedition G-force doesn't but at half the wow, its theme-less and looks a bit bland.

9 - Katun: Its a formulaic B&M and not much more than that, there is too much character in the other contenders to allow this coaster to get any higher

8 - Balder: It looks a competent woodie, i think wooden coasters do badly in these things as they are hard to judge on a POV

7 - Troy: As above

6 - Silverstar: A solid B&M hyper and lots of fun (which is i assume why its in the Top 10) buts its not at the top of its own league and 6th is as high as i can place it.

5 - iSpeed: This looks to do everything we wanted Cheetah Hunt to do, its fast, it looks smooth and it runs through those elements like a bat out of hell. Its also not just typical Intamin airtime hills, with lots of interesting twists and turns.

4 -  Raptor: This just looks like a fantastic experience, its well themed, it flows beautifully and is a wonder to watch. It lacks the punch to be placed any higher but its certainly made an impact considering its in the last 10

3 - Blue Fire: I often wonder whether this roller coaster gets more credit than it deserves. The theming however is on par with all but Mamba, the ride is certainly as exhilarating in the first 2 thirds and the lap-bars make this an interesting ride. However this ride gets its ranking above the likes of Raptor because of that amazing last inversion. I always like a coaster that saved the best until last.

2 - Black Mamba: This comes second because it has some amazing theming, it puts the ride into the ground as Nemesis proves is a winner for inverters and it looks to be one of the better inverter coasters around.

1 - Expedition G-Force: AIRTIME AIRTIME AIRTIME.... this was just such a pure thrill machine that i loved for its every second. It is just indescribable.

10. Raptor
9. Silver Star
8. Black Mamba
7. Troy
6. iSpeed
5. Blue Fire
4. Expedition GeForce
3. Katun
2. Balder
1. Piraten

I'm not going to go into elaborate detail, but all of them are great coasters and it's just a case of which one I find more appealing. One thing I do want to note is that I've put the two highly themed rides in the group (Raptor and Black Mamba) near the bottom. Whilst I agree that theme can add to an attraction, I feel there is not enough substance in the actual rides themselves to put them ahead of their opponents.

Also, Piraten needs more love. <3

By this stage, I believe the pros and cons of each ride (in my view) to be obvious. My ranks are as follows, in reverse order.

10. Piraten
9. iSpeed
8. Expedition GeForce
7. Silver Star
6. Katun
5. Black Mamba
4. Troy
3. Balder
2. Blue Fire
1. Raptor

Here are my votes!

1: Black Mamba
I am actually slightly suprised I have voted this top, given that the coaster was less of an impact on me in summer 2011. That said, it's still a sensational modern masterpiece - a pinnacle of both artistic and technical design. It takes the sub terranean dives of Nemesis to the next stage - with front row "near misses" frequent throughout. The ending may look poor on a POV, but the intense G forces experienced on the helixes is great, before the final dive into the pitch dark brake run. Exquisite theming, and Mamba has just pipped the rest to the post.

2: Blue Fire
I get off Bloofi everytime with a beaming grin. It lacks the intensity of some of the other coasters in the group and is probably along with Troy, the most family friendly in the group. That said, the ride combines a solid theme, exceptional rider comfort, class beating throughput and some great manouvres. The final roll is the best inversion going. It's a "hands up all the way" kinda coaster, and I just keep going back for more, more, more.

3: Katun
If this was themed as well as Mamba, it would be top of the pile here. Still, looks sensational and I am quite frankly clamouring to get on this in 2012. Fabulous looking machine which is said to be intense aswell.

4: Troy
This is a brilliant, brilliant wooden coaster and my best one to date. I reckon it'll still be my top woodie even after all the new ones I will be riding this year (Wodan, Coaster Express). It's fast, fun and just all round WOOO!

5: EGF
I often feel as though I rate EGF a little lower than it should be. But there's just one or two things that hold it back from being top of the pile. And I don't know if I can even explain them. It's a superb airtime machine, and the first drop is probably the best in existance.

6: Balder
I think I need to ride this to be able to judge it properly. Looks like a cross between Intamin Airtime Woodie (Colossos) and GCI Twisty (Troy). I have to say it looks brilliant, though.

7: iSpeed
It looks good, but I am not sure I buy all the hype. I have a feeling it could suprise me when I ride in August, though. Not sure I can get over the restraints yet, but it looks a very, very solid ride.

8: Silver Star
A little harsh, maybe. But Silver Star is excellent at what it does. It's hands up, smiling, laughing, floaty, speedy fun. Could use a little more power on some of those hills, but hey - who cares. When you've gone round the turnaround and are heading back towards the park panorama like you get at Europa-Park, there's very little better.

9:Raptor
Visually, incredible. And this is for me, fully deserving of a top 10 finish. It's super work from Merlin. A little short, yes - perhaps a little gentle in places, but wow. Merlin top of their game, here.

10: Piraten
Sorry, but when there's EGF in the poll I am afraid I am not voting this as high. It looks like lots of airtime, but without that killer first drop, it's here in 10th. I would still love to ride, though!

All these coasters look brilliant.

My rankings:

1. Silver Star
As I've said previously, I think this is the best coaster I have ever been on, and it is most definitely my favourite just now. What else did you think I was going to put first?? :P

2. Katun
Looks absolutely amazing, and whatever it loses in theming, im sure it makes up in intensity, I can't wait to ride this in the summer! :D

3. Black Mamba
One of the best coasters I have ever been on, and is landscaped and themed to beyond perfection, just brilliant!

4. Blue Fire
Sure, it's not the most intense of rides, but I cant think of any other coaster that leaves me with such a big smile on my face the whole way round, utter class!

5. iSpeed
Looks like one hell of a launch coaster, and definitely one that I can't wait to ride.

6. Expedition Ge Force
Has one of the most amazing drops I have ever been on, and is awesome throughout, but in my opinion I prefer B&M airtime coasters.

7. Raptor
Looks smooth and graceful, and an amazing amount of fun, but in my opinion doesn't match up to the coasters above it.

8. Balder
Gets good reviews and looks like an awesome woodie, but I wouldn't want to ride it as much as the others above it.

9. Troy
Same as Balder really.

10. Piraten
Looks good fun, but absolutely no way as good as EGF, and as stated earlier, im not a fan of Intamin airtime coasters, im more of a B&M person.

A good final in my opinion, with each coaster definitely worthy of getting this far.

As soon as the results of the second semi were revealed I started trying to put together my order for the final.  Since then I've gone through and changed it several times and I'm still not entirely happy with it.  I'm not even sure if I'm happy with my orderings in the semis.

I know I'm putting EGF top and Raptor bottom and I've got a vague idea of where I'm putting most of the others, but  having only been on 4 of these coasters coming up with a definite answer is very tough!

Katun needs more love... Which is why I voted it first... It might look bland and rather generic, but jesus does it actually pack such a punch... One of my favourite first drops on any Invert, maybe even coaster...

Blue Fire was second, then Raptor third... The rest thrown away like piles of ash (especially with Balder and Troy on the pyre)...

1. EGF
Really looks stunning.

2. Piraten
Mini-EGF

3. Silver Star *
Maybe a bit of a fanboy vote, but I absolutely love this beauty and want to see it do well.

4. Black Mamba
Speechless theming.

5. Balder
Looks like a compact riot.

6. Blue Fire *
But... it's Blue Fire!

7. Troy
TROY!

8. Katun
B&M formula at its very best.

9. iSpeed
Fun but not good enough for this group.

10. Raptor
The only coaster in this group which I don't think looks amazing. Slow, ambling B&M.

Lol, you should have seen my original rankings, I actually changed them slightly due to the fact it looked so fanboyish, and to add a bit of variety.  Not that it's too different now though :P

I think it's fair to say this is a very strong final.  Admittedly there are a few other coasters I would have liked to have seen here but overall I think that all the ones that did make it are worthy for different reasons.  So, after a bit of playing I've finally come up with the following.....

10.  Raptor - Looks like a great experience and a lot of fun.  The theming and integration is top notch and the near misses certainly seem to add to it all.  It just all looks a bit tame for my liking, I'm definitely more of a thrills man.

9.  Blue Fire* - May seem a bit harsh for some, but as with Raptor, it just doesn't provide enough thrills for me. It is without doubt a great fun ride though and a coaster I rank very highly, the highlight being the final inversion which is still my favourite inversion on any coaster I've ridden.  The trains and restraints are truly amazing and the whole thing is beautiful to look at.  I just wish it was a bit more intense (although it is perfect for EP as it is).

8.  Silver Star* - A beautiful, smooth, flowing ride, which provides some great floater airtime.  The first drop is great and some of the views from the ride are stunning.  It also looks great offride, which is quite a feat for what is basically a car park coaster.  The fact that it constantly looks brand new probably aids that.  Sounding a bit like a broken record now but again it just lacks that extra bit of intensity.  Still, a top ride and front row rides are just sublime!

7.  Black Mamba* - A coaster that has dropped quite dramatically in my rankings this last year, mainly due to some average rides in the summer.  The first drop and loop were still very intense but it seemed to die a bit after that, compared to my rides at New Year 2009.  The layout is fairly formulaic but this doesn't bother me too much as the theming and landscaping more than make up for this.  It's fair to say the whole thing is a complete masterpiece and front row rides are truly stunning.  The best all round package in the poll for me, and would be a worthy winner because of this.  However there are other rides that appeal to me more personally in this final.....

6.  Balder - A coaster that always performs well in Mitch Hawker's, but personally I've heard quite mixed reviews.  Seems to be ejector airtime galore, which is right up my street, and I have to admit to being a complete woodie fanboy.  Would love to ride it in the near future and on another day it could have easily made my top 5.

5.  Piraten - Another airtime machine and another coaster I'd love to ride.  Seems to be very full on for it's size and I've heard nothing but good about it.  Somewhat of a mini EGF, but with the real thing in the final too, it probably stopped me ranking this slightly higher.

4.  Katun - Looks like a complete beast, I can't wait to ride this in the summer!  If it's anything like Monster (the only other massive B&M invert I've ridden), then this will be immense.  I just hope it's as intense as I'm expecting, but from what I've heard it bodes well.  There certainly has to be something about a coaster that always challenges our Nemmie in the Mitch Hawker.

3.  Troy* - This is my fanboyish vote of the final, for me this is the perfect family coaster.  A good level of thrill which seems to appeal to kids of all ages (judging by my visits to Toverland), yet still appeals to the most hardened of enthusiasts.  I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone say anything bad about it!  Overall just great, great fun and a great layout.  A special mention to Millenium Flyers which must have the comfiest coaster seats in existence!

2. iSpeed - My most wanted coaster in Europe and the closest thing we have to Maverick on this continent.  Looks like a great layout with plenty of variety in there, what with a launch, airtime hills, snappy directional changes and some cool looking inversions.  A teeny bit worried about the restraints but I've not really heard mention of them from those who have rode it, so fingers crossed they're not too bad.  I really can't wait to ride this, roll on August! :D

1.  EGF* - My current number 1 coaster, I actually dream about this thing!  I think we did get quite lucky when we rode on the TTF roadtrip, as from reports I've read from people who ride it regularly, they've often cited that at that time it was running exceptionally well.  Still I can only rate it on my personal experience and I found it to be AMAZING.  I had massively high expectations before riding it and it somehow managed to live up to them.  The first drop is the best I've experienced, and is actually quite scary back row.  Seriously, with no restraint you would be launched over the other side of the park :P  The ejector airtime that follows is just immense, and I know some of our group were starting to get airtime bruises on their thighs after a few rides.  In fairness, it doesn't do a great deal for the middle part of the ride but the ending finishes it off nicely.  I need to get back to Holiday Park, I love this coaster! :D

Mitch Hawker clearly thinks otherwise. The mega-lites slipped in the last poll, but didn't one of them win the year before, or at least finish second?
