I went on this coaster when it came to Goose Fair a few years ago. It was crap, though impressive for a fair. So I guess it valleyed. It's not particularly high though, shouldn't have taken this long. Do they not possess a cherry picker?!
Sigh. When's someone gonna shut this shithole down and give Scotland the decent park it deserves? He also said those stranded on the ride were not given any information by park operators and did not receive an apology when they were finally taken off.

It seems to have stopped on the lift hill.
This article has a picture that is a little more panned out: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scott ... -23245909/
Rescuing people by rope access takes AGES, I can't believe that they have no cherry picker, ha ha.

On the lifthill?! Sodding hell! Don't they have emergency generators to power this thing up, or couldn't they get some? How hard can it be to find a way of restarting the lifthill? And they used ropes instead of a cherry picker? I hope this park get fined by H&S for their utter incompetence.

Even if the lift hill had broke, surely the park could have even hired a cherry picker in this situation to remove people from the ride? #-o
For a coaster to break down @ 16:30 and the last guests were not taken off until 00:45, it just seems that the park couldn't have had an evacuation procedure, or at least a good one!

A cherry picker would have been a waste of money due to the weight of the average Scottish person, it would have been useless. Sadly the park doesn't earn enough to invest in a crane for lifting guests. This is also why the chain probably broke in the first place as well.

Good find with the pics, Dave.
The rope access method of rescuing people takes forever, even when carried out by the most experienced of people. I hold the qualification because it's used in the inspection work I do and have seen countless number of rescues. For the park to rely on the police using this method and not have anything like a cherry picker (which I also can drive 8)) is beyond a joke really. Imagine if it was boiling hot, thunder and lightning, or if someone on it died as a result of not being able to get down and do/take something they need to every few hours.

I can understand that takes a long time but over 8 hours?!
Does anyone know the manufacturer and model name? Also, some news reports are stating they were at 60ft, others 90ft? I can't imagine the latter being true...

Oi. Can it with the anti-Scottish stuff. You English poofs
But seriously, this is shocking. Even for M&Ds. I hope they get absolutely hammered for this. Ropes indeed #-o

For some things there is no rational explanation. There is no way out. There is no happy ending to this story. Welcome to the unknown. Welcome to eternal darkness.

Lol at that last one. Well they clearly have no idea what they are doing when it comes to getting people off their rides.

Whenever I think about a visit to M&Ds, I remind myself about the photo below...if you look carefully, if they cannot spell theme park, how can we trust them to run one
