The small danish park Djurs Sommerland is building a new Intamin Hyper coaster with LOADS of artime hills:

http://www.piratland.dk/?PageID=441&Gallery=Piraten

On the page you will find layout and a No-Limits onride video, too. What a cool move of the park which, till now, is more of a small family park with waterpark section. But its family-run and so nicely done. Cannot wait!

By the way - the layout is a copy of the also new ride at Tobu Zoo in Japan.

WAY cooler than a splash battle.

Alton Towers don't want a roller coaster, they want a newly themed area that will appeal to families? :?

I know, I know - its more an information. Thats why I posted it under "other Parks" as there are now quite a few pirate-themed things popping up everywhere and I really like that one!

I can't believe that no one's been talking about this - easily the most exiting European project of 2008. This thing looks like an absolute airtime machine.

You can find a load of new photos here. The layout is now complete and the trains are on the track. I love the look of that last flick onto the brakes and the cable lift should mean that you are thrown down the first drop. Hopefully there will be some nice theming to compliment the coaster

Weird - never heard of it. Tower of Terror hasn't exactly set the forum alight either. Both are major projects!

This looks cool! It's a 'Intamin Mega Light' I guess, a budget version of their classic Mega Coaster. It's quite small (105') but looks fun!

But TOT *exaggerates* has been in construction for the last 1 million years and was meant for DLP before MGM.

It's just an expensive Mystery Castle lol

Yeah, but there wasn't even a thread. And it is a major ride for Europe. Similar to this I guess, an Intamin coaster with no mention! I guess it's a very small park that nobody has heard of. Could be another Holiday Park

Another that seems to have flown under the radar. Djurs Sommerland, home of the celebrated Intamin Mega-Lite "Piraten" are opening a MACK watercoaster (think Poseidon at Europa) for their 30th anniversary in 2011.

Theming looks great! Another must visit Euro Park. Hate.

This is literally like mini-Poseidon! Looks fun. Hopefully the great, swooping drop will be smoother than Poseidon's.

Looks nice - hope it's well themed. Love the drops in Water Coasters - especially with the bunny hop! This ones main drop looks just like Poseidon's - getting steeper part way down!

Looks great indeed! Thorpe park should have got a similar design rather than that 2nd hand crap thats opening this year for a water ride!

Actually I think something like this would make a great replacement for Tidal Wave when its time is up (pretty soon, it's not very popular except in the height of summer).

No love for this coaster...? :(

A video has emerged of the ride's preview day, covered by Danish news.

Do you know what I love about this ride? It's solid. No, it won't trouble Mitch Hawkers. No, it's clearly not one of Europe's best coasters. But it's a great looking coaster, with great looking theming, and a high build quality. It's a great, good-looking, self-contained, all-round-quality attraction where there was nothing before, and a solid new addition to this park's ride arsenal. Parks need to think about doing this sort of thing more often. :)
AstroDan

It clearly is a solid new ride for the park. Nobody cares because it's basically a small version of Poseidon which, in terms of track/train doesn't get raved about. That said, I am sure for the park it's going to be a fantastic addition! The theming is great!

:D
.Will

Looks like a cracking little ride. Looks a bit warmer there new would still think twice before riding though.

Blaze

It looks nice. A solid ride. Theming looks just as good as the bigger boys and the ride should be pretty fun.

:)
AstroDan

I have just watched this POV.

Looks like a great little ride, nice features at the start with animatronics and what not. Also, it takes the course at a fair old pace! Throughput doesn't look great yet though.

I love the main drops on Mack Water Coasters though, the way the drop gets steeper half way down rocks!

:D

Can't believe I missed the last 3 updates, been waiting to see how this turned out to see if Mack had made any improvements on the Water coaster design. It looks like they have but not by enough to convince me it's a great ride type, still a good addition for a small park. This theme has a very LWV Skeloton bay look to it, simple but good.

Djurs Sommerland have revealed on their Facebook page a new attraction has been pushed back to 2022 from 2021. A themed sign has appeared, but theoretically, I think if we put 2 and 2 together, this sign is on the Jungle Safari ride site, which closed in 2019. The site labelled for 2022 is also on the park map on the website.
