B&M have been contracted by a secretive park to build a new clone of their first flyer, Air. The park are even using exactly the same colour scheme as the original ride!

Aw no, really?
Is it a secretive park because you won't tell us or no one knows yet? :P
The people who own it must really love Air, same colour scheme too; Wow... Wonder what they'll call it!

I reckon it'll be called Wind or something like that Anyway, personally shame on them for cloning it, but hey if it's that good, why not!
It's called Starry Night Ripper and it is being built at World Joyland in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China. It also is not a copy of Air, it only uses the same colour scheme, it will feature four inversions instead of Air's two. According to RCDB it will have a double corkscrew and a loop! Here is the link:

There is only one clone of any of Alton Towers B&M rollercoaster’s and that is Dive Machine G5 at Koo-Kung Hsiang, Yunelin, Taiwan. That is an exact carbon copy:

Sorry to burst your bubble Sam!

Why any park would build a copy of air is beyond me. I don't think Alton would have built air as we know it unless they had to.

I know Will, I just saw the photo and thought I'd see if people would believe me that it's a clone of Air!
It does look almost identical to the beginning of Air's lifthill, and they must have copied the colour scheme. "Starry Night Ripper" is the best coaster name ever?

I found this the other day and couldn't help notice the near identical colour scheme. There is another topic somewhere on here about the rest of the park.
Being picky: G5 is a mirrored carbon copy (not that it makes much difference) :hsmug:

I agree 100%, the 1st time i rode Air I wanted it to be so much better than it was! Its a ok ride but theres much better flying coasters out there now.

Yeah, but it still is the only copy of any of AT's major rollercoasters! Smarty pants!

Saw this a while ago, wonder how this double screw will work, will they actually be inlines like all the other flyers have had, or actual corkscrews like Tatsu, and double? B&M have never done a double screw before, so this is interesting.
First loop on a flyer aswell, not counting pretzels, so inside or outside? Or will it be lost in translation and be a pretzel?

It does sound like a very unusual set of elements for a B&M flier, and rather more like the Vekoma flying dutchman rides. The order of elements seems slightly odd too - very rare to have an inline first (unless its pre lift which going by the pictures doesn't seem possible). It will also be interesting to see whether they go for an inside or outside loop. inside is probably more likely if the vekoma's are anything to go by, and it would be more like the existing pretzel loops.
Certainly a lot to think about, this will be an interesting one to follow
Maybe the topic title should be changed to something less misleading now?

Well, bespoke coasters at least, which is what I think he meant. Rita and Beastie are both off the shelf designs. Rita's clone actually has a better ending.
