As predicted last night's break down has lead to far from raving reviews of the ride in todays media...Daily Mail article

How unlucky that the ride breaks down the day of press release...really not good for reputation. Is it working now?

Jeez, the way they're talking, you'd think it fell apart as soon as they turned it on!

Didn't Wardley say adverts were due to start airing this week though. So it's most certainly plausible that we could see the adverts on during BGT which is regarded to most of the public as "prime time television."

No, he said they would start next week - though lots of people have speculated that he may have meant this weekend! Who knows :PSwEDEN wrote: Didn't Wardley say adverts were due to start airing this week though. its such a shame that these days headlines come from fake reality tv "stars". Be grateful that youve gone for a FREE party with free booze and such and even been invited to ride, so ungrateful. As for the write up, it seems the media are so quick to report a hype of 'oh look how good it looks but lol it actually doesnt perform and broke down'. When the facts are that there was power issues. its been working fine for weeks and its a new ride in testing...its gonna have mishaps etc! so annoyed :/
I dont think itll have an overall effect, people only need to see that ride to see how good itll be! Just a shame it happened on press release!
Fingers crossed all goes well on opening day!

Some people are so snotty, just because they're a 'celebrity' they think they have a right to complain and get their own way! People need to understand that there is always going to be problems that can't be avoided!

I doubt the celebrities feel the same way about riding The Smiler as enthusiasts do and are hardly thinking "Oh I feel so privileged" - you're quite clearly jealous. It would have been a waste of time for them to be there for nothing to happen.JayJay90 wrote: its such a shame that these days headlines come from fake reality tv "stars". I actually think they were quite toned down for celebrities. Ok so they weren't impressed and couldn't understand why they couldn't ride, but it appears nobody informed them what the fault was and to be fair, if you spent six hours in a car excited to be one of the first to ride The Smiler, and get there and there's a power cut...you can't tell me you wouldn't be disappointed.
All of this is nobodies fault but the press for making it out like the ride is faulty rather than a genuine, unfortunate mistake. You can't blame AT or the celebrities for it.

Roodlesnouter is on site and press were scheduled to go on it 10am this morning, it's still not functioning so all press have been sent away. Let's hope it is running again soon.Heisenberg96 wrote: Is it working now?

Oh dear...to be honest I think if it was fatal Alton would have informed the press on site this morning. I reckon it'll be running by 4-5ishMabalzich wrote:Roodlesnouter is on site and press were scheduled to go on it 10am this morning, it's still not functioning so all press have been sent away.
