Wasn't there a video about three pages ago which shows the facial recognition thing?
That would be pretty cool to see people's faces as they go round.
Is that why there's so many cameras around the ride?

I think we are going to see some sort of mesmerising effects inside the building that are going to disorientate you and make you feel 'what the hell has just happened!!' It would make sense to have shutters because they arnt going to want sound and light echoing between the station and the riders in the indoor sectionkrug wrote: I agree about the shutters Barty. Possible 3d mapping effects projected onto it?

To clarify, I thought the facial recognition thing in the central news story was in the ride but it was for the ITV guy. My mistake. Can't believe I thought the front row had to wear camera helmets hahaha

Wow, I come home from a day at work and am absolutely floored by all this new footage!
Most striking things from the POV:
- The indoor section is shaping up nicely, though is clearly under construction still. LOVE the "HA HA HA" signage with the twisted theme playing. I imagine we'll be seeing plenty of effects in there too. Looking forward to see what that whole section is like once the ride is finished and open.
- The Flasher is quite possibly the most intense headchopper I've seen in my life. I even flinched just watching it on my computer screen!
- I like the Smiler logo in the pit, but I hope we see some more floor markings/theming in there.
- The landscaping is looking brilliant so far.
Aaaaaaand that's my excitement levels propelled through the roof once again...

why, why oh why did AT have to go with the bright yellow tacky theme we could have had a real sinister thing, based around a hospital or asylum or something
But dayum, that airtime hill.

For some things there is no rational explanation. There is no way out. *stares at EXIT sign*

Does anyone know how big the indoor section drop is because it looks huge on the pov and also is there going to be a mist/smoke effect in the entrance to the indoor section like there is in the game

Very minimal but I like it a lot.Danny wrote: Station interior:
Isn't that kind of the point though? It is a real sinister thing cloaked in an over-exaggerated coating of happiness, which only adds to how sinister it really is. Much more unique and striking than them going the run-down, spooky route again.epicV3N0M wrote: why, why oh why did AT have to go with the bright yellow tacky theme we could have had a real sinister thing, based around a hospital or asylum or something
If any of you play video games, this is what Portal would be like in ride form - it's the same "Yay! Science is FUN and SAFE!" facade over a sinister reality approach.

I was thinking the same, to say this thing isn't special is silly.JayTricky wrote:Aw common lad you're kidding right? Im soo sad that there might not be one! Still a fab coaster but it does not have that special Alton touch to it
It has Altons touch all over it. Look at the Marmaliser! The Marketing!
