I hope the inside gimmick isn't too technical - Only because of the threat of technical breakdowns during the first half of next year....

To be honest, any new ride tends to have a fair amount of breakdowns during the first-half of their season

All ride have technical issues, world firsts often have more but AT are pretty good at getting it working again in a short time. You can be in the air queue and have the ride working in 20 mins. Of course air is old(er) now but I think they'll be prepared.

A user over on Coasterforce posted this which is quite sweet for speculation:

Imagine it - train stops, something jumps out & scares the poop out of most of the passengers, and those behind the glass get to laugh at the 'well ard' chavs bricking it :0D
or you could view the ride being operated, but it could be made to look like a mad scientist running experiments? or members of the public could view the 'test subjects', etc. i am really getting my hopes up about the use of the theme

Closeup of the hole You can see a zig zag cut into the floor. quite odd. You can see it clearly when on bliv.

And finally... The swimming pool in the hole.

Had a peep round there today, cameraless as I am an idiot, and pictures really do not do that hole justice, it really is too big for just foundations... I think our worlds first is there...

very unlikely to be transfer track, as we already know that the transfer is just before the track re-enters the station building on the upper level.

And thanks for sharing your pics Stretchy. i'm now 100% confident the excavation is beneath the shop.

You will first need to upload them to an image hosting service (Facebook/Flickr ect). Then right click on the image and select copy image URL. Then open a new reply and click the add image button, and paste the shortcut.

I find putting   [/i m g]  between the direct link to the picture is easier than wrestling with a pop-up window holding my hand with sharing images.

I also can vouch for imgur.com being user friendly. Like it's EASY to locate the URL to the picture after uploading and no annoying popups.

I'm totally baffled by all of this.

Firstly why is this HUGE hole carved into so many unusual shapes and angles?

Second, the dig covers such a large space which to me seems they aren't simply digging trenches for track to pass through like the plans show. This is something else. The vertical support beams hint that the whole area is going to be some kind of underground bunker and ride area.

I doubt very much this ride is going to be anything like what we saw on the plans.

Agree Peteb. There are more shapes cut in than you can see on my photos. To the right of the area that's being covered with black plastic is another odd shape cut in. Like a room with a circle at one end and a person sized entry in the circle. You can see it filled with water in the first picture, Quite odd shapes.

That last photo really does show the scale of the trench!

The more I look at this hole the more it reminds me of the old construction photos of Nemesis.
Would love to know how they go about getting the diggers out of that trench though, haha.

Seeing the scale of it - with the workmen down in the hole - makes you appreciate a bit more why vertical construction is yet to begin - this looks like it's a mammoth earthworks project.
Those builders / engineers must be pretty confident in the ground stability (given recent weather) to be down there without any support against the walls!
