I chase Queue jumpers. It gives me a bit of entertainment during a hard day of attending, and it also gets the queue against them.

only queue jumping i witnessed on my trip on wednesday was at the skyrdie station in ugland. The was a small queue, prob about 20 people, so only a few minutes wait, and this group of girls barged past everyone, and straight on to a gondala someone else was about to get in to.

The staff told them to leave though, and they couldnt understand why, apparantly, they said, they didnt realise they had to queue

Well at the St Bedes trip last year, the schools very own chavs climbed over some fences on SPinball at the start of the day before finally being stopped by a man, annoyingly the ride ops did nothing whatsoever and despite them gettign in the queue 5 minutes after us, the got on 10 minutes earlier :(

Was once in the queue for Rapids, just before the bottom of the steps before bridge. These older guys just casually walked down the steps and joined the queue in front of us. The next thing I knew there was peolpe barging in from behind us.........no not more jumpers but off duty/security police type people, pounced on them and handcuffed and escorted away!!!
.........Chance favours the prepared mind..........

i was at the towers on saturday and queing for air (about 45 mins) when a man and a woman came up behind us and asked if they could get past because they were looking for there son who they had lost, so naturaly every one let them past. 5 mins later we were on the bridge in the air que and we saw the same 2 people in the loading bays with no son in sight lol it was quite funny as they had conned us all but still annoying

never experianced queue jumpers at AT (only been twice though), infact i think the only time ive seen queue jumpers was at pleasureland, when me and my dad where waiting in the queue for wild cat, we were the only ones on it when this group of about 4 stupid little chavs ran through the line jumped in front of us, then jumped in the car (the operator was getting someone off at the other end of the station) then they tried to push the train out the station  , but then my dad said "err, you know theres a line?" then they just said "oh erm, yeah" and walked away :?

Wish he hadnt said anything, they would have been thrown out of the park for queue jumping, and jumping on a car and riding without the operator knowing :|

i've had a few experiences with queue jumpers and I usually take the same approach - mostly for my entertainment - a group of maybe 5 or 6 will try and push past saying they're trying to meet the rest of their group or whatever, so I'll let the first 4 or 5 through leaving one behind, then just stand in the way with my mates so the last one can't get past (the rhino if you've seen the stampede in jumangi) - a little mean I know, but afterall they shouldnt be breaking the rules.

one other time, in the queue for the last Ice Show on a fireworks night, i shouted at a woman for pushing in front of me, not just for me, but theres was a lot of families in the queue and I could see a lot of people getting fed up with the queue jumpers. She paid little attention so for the next 10 minutes I gave her a guilt trip about the family who would have queued three times as long as her and wouldn't get in to see the show thanks to her .... I felt a bit better for it at least

There were some rude boys who were pushing in front of us in the Spinball queue last year...everyone around us noticed, and they paused just in front of my group. With some sneaky looks around between us, the people in front of them and the people behind us, we managed to weedle our way round them...not giving them much chance to keep up...you could tell they were annoyed but they couldn't say anything. They're so annoying!

I'll usually let the one person through, particularly if it's a small kid. It's just not worth the fuss, but we'll usually glare at them.

 :P

Best way of dealing with them is let them queue up then in form the ride assistants in the station of the culprits, they should deal with them adequatley. But if they push in font of you then they will get a ride before you get to tell anyone, so the best way is to say "Excuse me why have you pushed infront of us in the queue line?" They will probably reply with some excuse and "Whats it go to do with you?" The best answer to this is "Well i am staff you see and can get you escorted off park by security once you get off this ride".

Usually does the trick!

I usually let the ride operator know, or ride assistant and if they refuse to do anything ill usually take a note of there name and go to guest services and let them know that their staff arnt doing their jobs properly, as i dont stand for que jumping one single bit,

The only time that has ever happened to me (and listen because this is a rather funny story) I went when i was about 12-13 and i was daydreaming in the Q for Corkscrew and suddenly lots and lots of people pushed in front of me! I was so shocked as i had never seen anyone Q jump before that i ran up to them and started shouting but one of the women kindly said to me " I'm sorry dear, but the Q has moved, you and your Mum and Dad should be right up there near the ride now" -DOW-

i really hate que jumpers, if they tell you to move out the way, i just stand ther and ignore them. But my most recent time was queing up for spinball whizzer when these girls behind us started saying that these people in front of us had pushed past them and ride ops thought that they were talking about me and my mate, but the girls did say that it wasnt us it was the people that que jumped, and the ride ops just took them out of the station.

It's a shame that there is always arrogant people who think they're better than everyone else. Queue jumpers should just be thrown out of the park in my opinion. The point of AT is to have a good time so why should people's enjoyment be ruined by a bunch of people who think they're more important?

well tbh, alton towers are too soft. they should adopt a zero tolerance policy. queue jumpers ruin other peoples day out for no reason other than to satisfy their selfish disre to go more rides.

When i was on holiday i booked tickets for 2 days at alton. on the second day there seemed to be a coach load of people from the "we are queue jumping annoying little f****s society"

i found the best way to deal with them (this only works for jumpers behind you) was to use my camcorder to video them, then show it to the ride op who severely dealt with them every time.

When they tried to get past me i just blocked em and used the support of other queing people around me to riddicule them. one of the youngest broke down into tears which seems harsh but i enjoyed watching it. he left us well alone after that.

Best q jumping story i have, actually was my own.
For my easter holidays, i worked at a local amusement park as a ride op. When ever I saw q jumping, I let them get to the front, then used my phone to get a picture of all the peeps in the group, then refused to let em on my ride.

Then i sent the photo to all my colleagues and they banned em from their rides aswell.

There was the one group of 4 girls who came up to my ride (while it was moving) an jumped over the gate, to shout at me. "wha wha wha why did you send our picture" "cry cry cry i was being a dick and for the first time in my life stood up to me and I dont like it"

My boss was on the ride with me and was hardly impressed. After he rather politely told them to f**k off, one of them kicked him. So we called the police and she got taken away.

the other 3 just fu***d off after that

And to think, it was a ten minute queue they tried to avoid, and they ended up getting arrested

however, back to alton towers, it should be zero tolerance. just like you get armbands for showing you are over 1.4m tall, EVERYONE should get an armband uponn entrance that says nothing, then if you Q jump, it is cut off, showing everyone what you did and banning you from the rides.

(and the park are now buying picture phones, one for each ride becasue it was such a good idea)

I agree totally with the zero tolerance thing and congrat geminidj for your methods! :D
Although getting bands to show how tall you are might slow down the queue to get in and there will be queue jumpers before you get in the park!

Last visit to AT there was about 8 of us walking down the nemesis queue, the queue was only 5mins so you had to walk a fair bit before you saw people but me n mate zara were heading up our group when all of a sudden she practically fell on me, some little scumbag had pushed her out of his was to get passed.
We looked behind to notice the rest of our group shouting at them pushing past, so me and zara just stopped in the middle then started walking really really slowly. One of the lads came to the side of me and tried to push past and I asked him what he was doing, he told me meeting his mate "what the one who just pushed passed us?" i asked "yeah him <points>". "Well no you cant" and we continued to block the whole path and walk slowly.
My mate danny threatened to hit one if he pushed him again so they all ended up being spit up which made us laugh when we got to the station and hardly any of them got to sit together.

--
At Flamingo Land we were queuing for the bullet, which has stairs to get to the station, 4 of us were together and these chavs pushed passed us, my mate Simon asked what they were doing to be greated with a punch in the head :!:
One of the ride ops saw this and didn't do/say anything. Once we got off the ride we found a member of staff who told us they were with a school group phoned a teacher who met us and apologised then located the scumbag and made him sit on the coach for the rest of the day - we gave him a wave as he was leaving
