As jay just said why the fins stick up. it is an hydraulic launch because the hydraulics turn a huge drum. They turn this by using the same principle as a steam train. the drum is attached to a cable the cable runs under the track and attaches to something to pull it that is all i know because i have only seen it on pics. my ideas on what it is attached to could be that the cable is attached to a wheel and the wheel spins pushing the train forward, or the cable is attached to a device which hooks on the train pulling it and then releasing it at a specific point. Thats all i know but i cant be certain. but i do know the reason it is hydraulics that attaches to the drum and not a motor because hydraulics are more powerful and are smaller. a motor would be huge.
btw they use Pneumatic (air) in chairs that go up and down because it doesn't have to be smooth and air can b pressured and hydraulics (oil) in things that are big and need to be smooth because you cant pressurize oil so you wouldn't get the springy movement of air it would stop straight away. oh and what do you think sand is for they ain't gonna use it to put out a fire cos you would need loads and if you had to throw it on people it would hurt. They put it in the tracks to make it quiet like on the mummy in universal studios

From my own head. Which is unusual for me, cos I normally can't invent jokes.

Well on the information video on ATA the Alton Towers man said no its not having it but it seems funny that they have got a Q for it and a sign, maybe they have change there minds or its going to be a different priority pass Q than what were used to. :D

ooo she looks fine.

I cant wait to give her a seeing to. The inuendo is so appropriate, I just wish it had a more modern ladies name.

Someone mentioned earlier that UG land has a cosy feel with everything being built close together, I hope it doesnt become uncomfortable and overcrowded on busy days.
