I went of Rita today and yeasterday! I have to say I was really impressed!! The it is my fave coaster there by far! I loved the launch, it was made even better by a meber of staff (who I know look of TT and I think he does here too, not sure wat his name is) but if you read it thanx for beeing really friendy, even when we did go up the front row queue when it was closed! And for letting us around 3 times in a row after it broke down last night!
The queues where going down alot faster today, untill it broke down.

Just seen the report on Blue Peter. I seriously cannot wait to ride RITA now! Howvever many times you see a video, i reckon it cant prepare you for the actual ride. Cant wait till i can go.

Rita just appeared on Blue Peter. It looked pretty amazing and fast. Thes tested for screams, who could keep a straight face, and to see if jelly and trifle could stay on plates over everyones heads. It made a complete mess!
Anyways, blue peter gave it a very good review, i cant wait!!!
2005 trips: 8th April (Best visit... ever!)
NO! Im completly forgot about the blue peter thing :( Oh well :(
Fear not, Philman, for I have captured the Blue Peter Rita segment, and uploaded it to http://www.dafyd.me.uk/docs/rita_bp.wmv

It's about 10MB (so those of you still on 56K may have a bit of a wait...), in Windows Media format.

http://www.towerstimesforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6030 to talk about the blue peter footage of Rita. IMO it didnt look that great on the show but never mind. They did not show enough of the ride itself.

But she still looks great! :D

Yer i missed it but then saw it on CBBC :) . Rita_05, Front is defornatly the best place to sit, going at that speed with trees and the Ug-Swinger coming right at you is great. Also when you see the fins drop that makes it a bit more tence as you know its getting ready to launch. :D

In light of the discussion of it, Switchback offer critique on Alton's latest ad-campaign in 'The Marketing Drive'.

I didnt think blue peter did it any justice at all. They made the launch look forceless saying thingslike 'nope not even the slightest change of facial expression...it didnt pass this test'.

Yes and youwont pull a face when you are really trying not to pull a funny face. But if you watch them on the first time, tehre faces went very funny on the launch. :D

I have been watching these forums since the news of Rita came around.

And I must say we have some a far way!

With the fences going up, the plans, the roumers, the launch track finished, the week or so for the rest of the track to be done lol! And then more recently Testing and opening!

Looking back theres been alot of roumers true and false ... it really is worth having a look at the 1st topic about Rita! :D

Notice a full page advert today in some magazine I was flicking through in staff room at work. Think it was heat. Page was basically a close up of a mans face and I think it said "Made some memories" with logos of Rita and Alton Towers in either corner.

Quick question- which would you advise?
Go straight to Rita when the park opens and get in the queue immediately (I won't be running though)
OR
Wait until 10-15 before the queue closes to go on it?
Thanks!

Either way with the current queues on Rita you will be queueing 45-60 minutes.
