I went on 13's opening day in 2010 and queued for around 3 hours! I vowed never to go on a ride opening day ever again.

Longest I've ever queued is Smiler at 2 hours 50 opening weekend... Running up the rear of that is Rita in 2005 at 2 hours 40...

And outside of that the next is 1 hour 40 for Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe this summer and Stealth for 1 hour 50
RedStar98

I remember waiting in a 2 hour queue for Charlie & The Chocolate Factory on the opening day with my younger cousins... Not fun. I've never queued that long for The Smiler but I was in the queue for Nemesis  for about three hours when it broke down last year.

The Smiler opening day. 210 minutes so the sign said (which I queued on my own, may I add) but I didn't bother counting

Air - 2003 - Fireworks Day in October. Waited 3.5 hours. We were so pissed off my ex was in tears.

Have never, and would never, wait that long for a ride ever again.

Actually, the park had over 125+ attractions back in those days. Now it has only 60+ but the newer rides have higher capacities.

Haven't been to AT for around 5 years but the last time I went me and my friend waited well over an hour to get on air, got right to the front of the queue and a ride car got stuck half way round, we thought we may as well wait for the problem to be resolved seeing as we had reached the front only to be told that we may as well leave the queue. Wasn't best pleased!

2 1/2 hours for the Smiler. I very rarely join a queue that has a wait time more than 1 hour. I return to it later in the day when everyone has moved to other rides. :)

I queued approximately 1 hour 10 minutes for Sonic Spinball during Summer 2013, totally worth it to be honest!  :D

40 minutes for Air. I budget my time when I go so I avoid queues and I hate queues. Always go when the park isn't busy too. Haven't queued more than 5 minutes for The Smiler yet.

3 1/2 hours for 13. Got in an hour early and went straight for the queue, so queued an hour then when the park opened 13 was having technical difficulties so queued another 30 mins (in which AT staff had said "oh it'll be about 10 mins more" twice) after the half an hour they said "don't know how long it will be" so I left the queue came back when it was working and queued another 2 hours. Kinda a let down but after going on it again when I only queued 30 mins I really enjoyed it.

I hated every minute of 13's queue because it twists and turns you cant really work out how long's left.

Where possible, try to work out how far you are from the baggage hand-in. It's 5-10mins max after that.

I've also found the queue predictions for 13 quite accurate, so checking the time on a watch or phone as you go in and looking at the estimated time length isn't bad.

For example, if you enter the queue, and it predicts an hour wait, and you see that the time is 1 o'clock, then ou know you'll be on about two, so it's easy to see how long you have left :)
