So with the closed season here I thought we should have a thread where we can all post pictures of the resort to help get us through the winter blues.
Did you have trips to the resort this year or previous years? Do you have a mobile, hard drive or laptop full of Alton Towers pictures just sat there doing nothing? Well this is the thread to share them in, good or bad we want to see them.
Only 2 rules
1. Photos must be from Alton Towers Resort, Rides, Hotels, Scenery anything ATR related,
2. You can only post one photo per day
So go on, hunt down those pics no matter how good or bad and post them here for all to see. Lets keep the magic alive and the winter blues away during this close season.
I'll start us off with one I took this weekend
Reflective Towers
So over to you guys, we really wanna see those pictures....

One from a couple of weeks ago:
I've got a shed load from years back somewhere, so will try and dig them out for future days.

How do you take them like that, it looks so effective...Tom-TT wrote: One from a couple of weeks ago:

EDIT: is it something to do with shutter speed? Vaguely remember my art teacher saying something about that

Yep, it's just a long exposure:Therideman11 wrote: How do you take them like that, it looks so effective...

10 Seconds, f/11, ISO 200, 16mm.
Shot with a Nikon D3100 and Sigma 10-20mm lens on a tripod of course.
Long exposure is fun, I've sat around doing a 45 minute exposure of a power station cooling tower in -10°C, then to realise that noise reduction was turned on which took another ~45 minutes and even then the photo was pants. It's all good fun

Oblivion, taken in May on an attempt to visit on a day when The Smiler was testing. That failed, but at least I had plenty of photos to come away with :P

A Scorching hot July day, the industrial mess of metal ploughs through car after car with not so much as a second lost on dispatching. As weird as it sounds, it almost felt like the ride was screaming for a brief reprieve. Ironically, it broke down for 20 minutes, just 2 cars before our turn. Looking at this picture brings it all back, the music, the atmosphere, the heat.
