I know there has been a big debate for years about the air tunnel , and the last thing i want to do is start it all off again but has anyone else noticed they have added blue floodlights to the beginning of the tunnel? Is this just for scarefest or is it permanant - to be fair it makes it look better than it did before so definately a step in the right direction :)

Amazing what can be done with some spare blacklights. Clearly due to the purple/blue glow i would say thats what they are, Now just a fog machine and were good to go

I think theres too much visible reflected light to be blacklight - its probably an LED wash in the middle of the tunnel mouth judging by the shadow.

Th air tunnel is too visable to people in the queue. A wall of mist would fit perfect here like the smiler. As the train departs smoke comes down from the ceiling!

I like this, gives the tunnel entrance a bit of atmosphere. Agreed there is more that could be done but based on the history of this I guess beggars can't be choosers.
Smile. Always. :moj

Let's not get too excited, it's only a couple of blue lights... There is still the potential for vast improvement, but that doesn't mean to say that they'll actually do anything further.

Either way this is a step in the right direction. Shame it has taken them almost 12 years to do anything about it!
Could just do with some added mist and some extra water effects dotted around the outer section of the ride

When i was on Air last week I thought to myself that the tunnel before the lift hill really needs something done to it - it's basically concrete and you can see wires.

Some theming showing you that your about to fly etc would be cheap and perfect for the job

A touch of sky blue paint with a few white wispy bits to represent clouds would improve the situation somewhat, and it wouldnt cost the earth.

The only thing Air really needs right now, is a repaint. It's track is the most vile shade of light industrial-estate blue that I have ever seen.

They are LED floods installed for scarefest. The same ones that have been installed on Ripsaw, Nemesis, Rapids etc.

Looks much better than it used to, but with a smoke machine would be amazing.

I think they've also added a green light as well now as I when I went Scarefest there was just a blue light, but on Monday there was also green. Agree smoke would definitely add something to it and think the lights need to continue down the tunnel, not just at the start.

First off, sorry for reviving a dead topic!
I think that there should be a smoke screen separating:
a) Station to tunnel
b) Tunnel to lift
I also think in the tunnel they should paint it dark blue, put some light blue lights in and project clouds everywhere and the tunnel is themed! Then Merlin can do the rest of the coaster...

Yeah. Merlin is never gonna hire me... :(

Incase you couldn't tell, that was a tunnel on the lift hill, but you could still see the people watching from underneath.
