The work on Rita has been completed and it was back open this afternoon.Milgod wrote: Is that the type of thing that will be completed by Monday?
Seems that loads of rides are closing down.
I'm hoping The Smiler is open for Monday as I'm planning a trip for then.

I don't have an issue with planned maintenance as it has to be done, but if they know 24 hours in advance that a ride will be unavailable (cable replacement for example) then this should be put on the website so guests know this before they visit. Chessington have a ride status page.
If you go down to the woods today

The actual Towers is closed until next year because they are getting it ready for the Terror of the towers at Scarefest. Xx

The smiler was down for around 30 minutes before they decided to evacuate the queueline, I can confirm this because I was stood inside the station when it went down. They sent a few testers round but it never managed to re-open. I understand how some people in the station were annoyed at queuing 2 hours or diving from a long distance to come to alton towers but that doesn't mean they should take it out on the staff around the ride. People should understand that alton towers does not chose for this ride to break down. Bonus was though, we got a fastrack for next time
Thanks to Lewis for the sig!

Why is Smiler, The Flume and Rapids all closed at the moment?
I was going to have a pic of Hobs Pit but I forgot how to make pics show up
