They do sell cigarettes on park in several locations....... Theres a huge cabinet in the Air shop.

Not themed though  :D
Thanks, that made my day. I can actually see that cabinet in my head.

What about The Nemsis gun? Is that using a designated smoking area? :D

They are on Display in Xcite, Air Shop, Katanga Cargo and I'm pretty sure he are in most of the little shops too.... The hut next to the rapid waterfalls, the 1 near Goal Striker, outside the towers Archway and the hut as you enter Dark Forest on the right.

It is law now to cover them up and not have them on display, but a loophole created into the law states they don't need to be covered for the next 2 years if your a small retailer.... I guess Towers can exploit this as each outlet is individual rather than classing them as part of a Whole resort.

It is correct if the trading floor area exceeding 280 square meters. if the floor area is under this then the shop is allowed to display cigarettes.

I believe both towers trading and air shops are under this 280 square meters of floor area. so can display them.

Can you believe I had to get a member of staff to stop somebody smoking inside the Dome at Thorpe... Chav you may think, no this guy was in his 40's trying to smoke a pipe and thought the stink from it wouldn't alert everyone else to him smoking it let alone the smoke!.... standing next to our table while we were trying to eat food was not on.

IMO being told to stop was poor for Thorpe, they should have got security to escort him off the park. Does it sound petty? Well apart from inconsiderate, he was breaking the law!

Sorry but oyour talking absolute gibberish, Alton towers ( or any other private area) can ask you to stop smoking, if you refuse then they are well within there rights to remove you from their land/park using reasonable force if required.
They also have the right to refuse entry to anyone for what ever reason they like* so if your a trouble maker at Alton towers, other parks/places that are in the same group, or part of a trade organisation would also be witin their rights to refuse entry, or ejet you from their premises should they chose to do so.

Back in the day Mandy who played Peter Rabbit skated better when she was drunk and on pot. And a Kate who was a costume performer as a bug was always off her head and she was great.FACT

To be honest, I think Alton Towers should focus on Queueline Smoking as that is the most invasive smoking on the park. No respectful smoker would do it in the queueline.

Smokers sitting with no one around them on the lawn, are a low grade issue compared to smoking in crowded areas.

Quick Question, what do you all think about using of Nicorette inhalator in the Queueline?

Plus, if you are asked to leave, refuse to leave and then get escorted off park, that isn't discrimination. The reasons for the DSA's is being respectful to other guest. Oh and before we get onto the "I don't have a park map so I don't know where they are" excuse, they are clearly visible to anyone who is on park. If you pay to go in, why risk being asked to leave if you don't adhear to park rules? In my mind, that's just insane and disrespectful not to yourself but also others round you.
Its not what ya take out that works, its what you put in that makes it work

Keep grass at home, unless you are one of those people who smokes it with tobacco, in which case you're doing it wrong.

Some of us like a stoner and smoke free day, thank you.

I think they should have a big sign at each ride entrance saying if you need a smoke have 1 before you join the queue as if u light up other than the designed smokers areas you be escorted off the park without a refund. As the drug smokers they should be warned that the police will be called and they maybe charged&fined.
The same rules should go to people who spit, causing trouble, drinking booze, sticking gum on the floor, posts and bins and people who write on the queueline posts.
You wouldn't do theses things in your own/parents house so why do it at Alton Towers or any other parks.

Ive been in a queue line with people who are smoking infront/behind me. Persoanlly, I hate it. So when i see a member of staff I tell them and they will warm the person/s who are smoking. Ok, they give me some funny looks but I wanted to know what you guys would do?

Would you ask a member of staff, or even the person smoking to stop? Or just put up with it?

I would put up with it for as long as I could, as I don't like to make a fuss about things, but if they were blowing smoke in my face, I would probably tell a member of staff.

I'd love to tell them to stop, but at 12, I'm not really sure how to tell a full grown man to stop smoking. Luckily, 12 is still young enough that I can pull the "child dying" act by coughing and wheezing a lot in front of them and they may eventually stop smoking in front of me. If they don't, I tell a member of staff.

I'd be more forgiving of there wasn't any designated smoking areas, but there is, so why not USE them?

I do the same as you,a few coughs and splutters and the odd "what's that smell" work the trick speaking from experience

Whenever there has been people In the queue smoking at AT they always politely ask first and then I'm okay as long as they lean away from us. However at thorpe everyone does and at fright. Others I even saw a boy who could be no older than 14 in the asylum queue! But thorpe does has a reputation about the people they pull in ;)

I'm too nice to say anything usually but I always pull a disgusted face, cover my nose and occasionally a few coughs slip out  if they were too close or if it was really bothering me I would say something though, there needs to be a bit of consideration.

I do smoke, but I've never smoked in the queue lines. If I was a non smoker in a queue line with people smoking, I would tell a member of staff. There are designated smoking areas, but I would recommend that AT put up no smoking signs in the actual queues (if they have then ignore that) and make the smoking areas a bit more noticeable.
