I don't mind it really. At least it's consistent in that each restaurant now says the name of the food it serves. It's strangely satisfying to walk past buildings called "Chicken", "Pizza & Pasta", "Chicken & Ribs", "Fish & Chips" and "Pie & Mash". It's like life has been simplified.
Formerly "Dagoo"
i heard the Air vehicles were sent to B&M for love and hugsJordan wrote: I really liked the Fried Chicken Co. at Chessie last year. I hope this lives up to its southern counterpart.
Although, I have heard mixed reviews from those who have tried it so far. Will be interested to give it a try at the weekend.
Additionally, I'm doubtful as to whether Air will be running at the weekend. It seemed to be having issues frequently towards the end of last season and it sounds like it's not had that much love over the closed season.

http://www.altontowers.com/events/feb-half-term/Regrettably owing to the extremely low temperatures experienced recently the following rides may be unavailable tomorrow (Saturday 11th):
• Air
• Nemesis
• Oblivion
• Runaway Mine Train
• Sonic Spinball
• Squirrel Nutty
We will of course do our very best to get these rides safely operational as early as possible. We will update this page should we have further information.
Just posted on the AT homepage and Feb Half Term page.

If every coaster is down tomorrow, it'll be an absolute disaster for Alton Towers.
Feb half-term is really meant to be a cheap and cheerful day out for bored thrill seekers, if it basically just has the Christmas opening line-up all day then there'll be a lot of unhappy customers.

It's not their fault however. The likes of Europa will not operate their biggest coasters - Silver Star and Blue Fire - below 5c, let alone 1 or 2.
They still have time to put it right by posting on Facebook and emailing advanced ticket holders that they can visit the water park for £5, and have a free round of golf.
Just as well both additions this year are indoor. Will help next year. They need more support rides.

Not a lot they can do, I tweeted them last night asking if this was possibly going to happen and they said there would be an announcement today... the announcment none of us wanted.
Sadly the coasters aren't designed to run in these temperatures - I know the B&Ms shouldn't really be operated under 3 degrees...

Reminds me of Feb last year at BPP watching a fellow brush settled snow of Grand Nash, it opened not much after :PPeteB wrote:Even in the finest of weather you risk your life on blackpool coasters. Poor comparisson really.Darkrider wrote:

As this seems to be the second time in two weeks where we've had reservations for the Emperor Grill and they've been cancelled at very short notice as there seems to be a last-minute decision not to open the restaurant, is there any hope for us being able to eat there this season?
Im hoping opening weekend, it must be open then! But I certainly wont be getting my hopes up!

Kudos to Alton Towers today, in response to the weather making normal operations difficult today, they're offering:
- Annual pass-holders queue jumpers, for four rides of their choice on their next visit before 30 June.
- Paying guests a free return visit on a date of their choice (again before 30 June.

LOL ....Seriously, your biggest risk is the road journey to your favourite Park.BSwiss wrote:Reminds me of Feb last year at BPP watching a fellow brush settled snow of Grand Nash, it opened not much after :PPeteB wrote:Even in the finest of weather you risk your life on blackpool coasters. If a ride had a hint of being unsafe, the insurers would pull the plug!! (Grand National is a favourite of mine!)
I heard freezing rain has caused those rides to close at Alton. Just have to hope the weather warms up!

Yes but it had the flowers to break it up, and now its just block colour...aru wrote:It's looked like that since the retheme to CCL.jordanc44 wrote: That green on the front of the theater looks disgusting....
Personally, i hope they do... i think perhaps a dark tone of blue as the green doesn't look very 'ice agey'.haydn! wrote: It's meant to look like grass...they've removed the flowers. I'm guessing it will get painted... well I hope it does as you can see where the flowers were quite clearly!
