How do they exactly send these people away at the gate?
Although their clothing and stupid hairstyles are telling they dont come with a tattoo on their forehead.... Can you imagine the outcry if they actually did what you suggested.
Lots of people where seen escorted off the park on Sunday, its all towers can do really. and really i know Merlin hate is fashionable at the moment but do you really think they would not do anything they could do to prevent this, they lose a lot more money from the damage and theft as well as bad PR than they get from these people.

What's worse though, sending a few people away, or creating a hostile, dangerous even, atmosphere at a so called family theme park?
Alton try to be the funnest place in for families Britain, but no place is family fun if there's a load of thugs roaming around.

We only saw about 8 officers and 6 members of security around the whole park. 10 of them were at the Towers. The ordinary members of staff would be powerless against an aggressive group. There was literally hundreds of gypsies. It doesn't take a lot to work out who would win if something happened. :/
If sending people away based on their clothing works at other major theme parks across the globe then there's absolutely no reason why it can't work at Alton Towers.

Thorpe used to have an "antisocial behaviour hotline". Towers could use something similar on days like this. We reported a large group who were smoking weed in the courtyard, but having a direct line to security would have made it easier to do so.

Ill list what I saw on Sunday:
A traveler trying to start a fight with my mate.
Some fight/brawl outside dark forest
1-5 security guards at the Towers (Proving that they were unprepared as they were expecting next week, source from a few people working at the resort)
Literally shaking ride attendants
Someone assualting an actor in ToTT, making us having to stop in the middle of the maze and wait 5 minutes to get moving again.
Attack of the Oompaloompas. (Female travelers :P)
Travellers all swarmed at the Towers, making it almost impossible to get on Th13teen, Rita or ToTT without feeling intimidated or disgusted.
Queue jumping.
A zombie actor going out of character to tell off these two male travelers.
Attempted theft.
The list goes on.. I think it's safe to say, that they really need to ban them from the park. Its not hard to tell who is who.

Scarefest lunatic!
A colleague of mine went with a family to Alton yesterday for an annual trip.
They left at 5.00 because of the atmosphere.

Armed police would NOT make things better... But potentially make things worse... And create a really iffy atmosphere, which is completely against the point being made no?
Plus, I guess the Police charge for extra policing at events like they do at football clubs... So more police, means more money being charged, means the park would need to make more, which means they would NEED the extra income provided by the travellers...
And they CANNOT turn people away from the entrance, because then they might kick off at the entrance gates, try and get into the park anyway, and cause even more trouble...
Completely with Dave and Magrathea on this... Some of the suggestions being made here would simply not improve the issue, but potentially worsen it...

Someone mentioned earlier, travellers always come on the 2nd day of scarefest. What about next week? Because I just can't be bothered with this sorta rubbish. Sounds to me like a trips not worth it if you feel intimidated all day?

You will not see them again most likely, the staff were tipped off they were coming next week but they decided to come the first weekend. (From the looks of it, it will stay that way)

They really get to me absolute embarrassment's to society I'm so happy I wasn't there when these scum were there I would of ended up going mental I realize there are some very nice travelers however from the stories I've heard about families leaving the park as there intimated by them it surpasses me how they were let anywhere near this supposed family park.

Very much regret going yesterday now, feel like we had our day ruined by these people especially with no ToTT because of it which was the main thing we were looking forward to - really feel as though we've missed out.
I think the fact is that for a lot of people, AT is a once or twice a year event that is greatly anticipated. I know for me, it's usually only once that we make it down but we were very keen to try Scarefest this year - a day that we were looking forward to for quite a while. It just seems very unfair that other's feel as though they can do what they want, when they want, to who they want and spoil it for everyone else.
Have to say I would not have liked to have been an actor there yesterday, very risky with everything that was going on.

That's why having a dress code like Disney and some other parks would make sense. It isn't discriminate against one particular group, it's aimed at everyone who wants to go to Alton Towers. The trouble makers weren't dressed appropriately (if I had a £1 for everyone parent I walked past who I heard complaining...) so that would have immediately cancelled them out.
