We all know you guys read this forum and this is probably going to be the only post or topic directed at you that isn't completely slating you so make the most of it.

As someone who is slightly too addicted to Twitter I have spent the evening watching the world talk about a 15 year old girl named Alice. Alice has terminal cancer and as part of her remaining lifetime, however long or short, has created a bucket list. I'm sure you are aware a bucket list is a series of places or events that you want to visit or achieve before you kick the proverbial bucket and one of the items on the list was to have a #1 trending topic on Twitter (where I came across this story) along with the item that is the reason for making this topic.

http://alicepyne.blogspot.com/ - I'm sure you don't need me to put out the one that relates to you.

After a year or so of the fanbase, particularly on message boards such as this one becoming disillusioned with either Alton Towers itself or other parks that are under your management and the decisions made upon them why not prove to us all that there is a little bit of heart left, even in multi-million corporations?

I think that's brilliant news for Alice - hopefully either the park or Merlin's Magic Wand can help make her dream of staying in the chocolate suite come true. It's days like this that really makes you think the Alton Towers magic is still very much alive. :)

On Facebook, Alton Towers have said:

"we've already been sent a link to Alice's bucket list from various sources and we are in the process of contacting Alice directly to see how we can help - I think there are a few things on the list that we could help her tick off!"

Looks like they can do more than one thing for her - I would've thought they could sort the back massage out at the Spa for instance.

What an incredbily tragic and touching story. I saw a comment regarding Alice from Alton Towers but I wasn't aware of who she or what her story was at the time.

I am a fan of The Bucket List film, which I found quite affecting as well.

I think Alton could possible help with the swimming with sharks bit as well, although she may be targeting ones bigger than those in Sharkbait Reef, but it would still be an incredbible experience.

Merlin have a charity set up for such events. A group of friends raised a large some of money for this charity. I would assume that Alice will be one of many people to benefit from this charity.

Official quote from Alton Towers:
Alton Towers have said Alice can stay in its chocolate room.

Liz Greenwood, corporate affairs manager at the Alton Towers Resort, said: “We heard about Alice’s ‘Bucket List’ from a number of sources and, like so many people from around the world, have been incredibly touched.

“Our own group charity, Merlin’s Magic Wand, aims to provide magical experiences for children who are seriously ill, disabled or disadvantaged, so we are very keen to help Alice tick as many items off her list as possible.

“We are confident that there are at least three activities we can help with, so we will be contacting Alice’s mum to see if we can organise a weekend for Alice to stay in the Chocolate Room at the Alton Towers Hotel, swim with sharks in our aquarium and have a back massage in the Alton Towers Spa, plus other treatments of course.

“We could probably help with a couple of the other wishes, but we’ll see what she wants to do. Hopefully, we will be able to welcome her here soon.”

It is fantastic that Alton Towers are able to do this, a huge amount of credit to them. The whole story about Alice is very touching and it's great to see that so many different companies are helping to make her wishes come true.

The fact that Towers are not only letting her stay in the Chocolate Room but also going to let her swim with the sharks is brilliant. She will no doubt have a wonderful experience!

So yes, a big well done to Alton Towers for doing such a kind thing!

Unlucky Merlin/Alton. If you'd offered to run her in a Fanta advert covered lorry maybe you'd have gotten more replies.

Awww Big thumbs up to Towers for sorting this one out. I'm sure she'll have a fantastic time. :)
