Looks like someone at Alton has been for a flight over the towers
Alton Towers have added some new aerial shots to their facebook page. Alton always looks stunning from the air. I did it some years back and was an amazing experience.

They're a pretty rubbish set of photos to be honest! Haha.
Not one of them really focuses on anything and if it does, it's missing half a ride or something.
And only the left of the park?!

From the three staff in red jumpers standing on the way to the T13teen entrance, I'd assume they've taken a photo of a broken Th13teen :P

Screw the entrance fee, I have an annual pass!
I really like the Photos good to see some nice shots of the rides from above. Sure beats google earth
It annoys me on how there are no photos of Mutiny, Katanga, Gloomy and Valley, and that the camera just whores Oblivion and X-Sector. They are alright photos but you can't leave out Nemmy or Air!
I have to agree with wes, what the hell is happening there? lol
Oh and, Pinball whizzer anyone?

I think there are restrictions on flying over public places. I would like to know what type of aircraft these were taken from. When I did a microflight we were not allowed to fly over the towers and could only view it from the outskirts. Perhaps thats why the shots are limited ?

I notice that all of the overgrown shrubs have been removed from the Picture Gallery just next to the Hex Octogon, pity they can't put a roof on the area and open it up to the public.
Maybe the helicopter didn't fly over Forbidden Valley, Gloomy Wood, Mutiny Bay or the Gardens? From the sequence of photos it just looked like the cut over the East side of the park.
Some of them are quite amazing, notably the Towers and X Sector. I also like the look of Thirteen's forest-y queueline dipping into the thick trees. I really need to actually go on that ride!

*The Picture Gallery is the former Talbot Gallery, isn't it? It would be nice to see it but all of the architecture and well, just the majority aside from the walls appears to be gone, probably would be unsafe to visit.

The picture gallery is the last part of the queue and the cinema room. The roofless bit is the Talbot gallery

apologies for digging up this old thread. ive been googling for recent aerial pics of the park. these seem to be the most recent? *shrugs*
anyway, whilst browsing through these pictures, there was a bit of land that i had to query about.
the land in the bottom right hand corner, what is it? and more importantly... could it be built on? its not the former coaster corner is it?
