Hi all,

Have Heard today that this will be the last season that The Beastie will be in operation, It will be removed at the end of this season to be replaced with a new kiddy ride in the near future :)
Could this possible be the new kiddie coaster the park desprately needs? :)

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the info... was it a reliable source that said this? It makes sense really seeing how outdated the Beastie is, and what with the recent Sonic refresh to Spinball, it'd tidy up that area nicely.

Will be interesting if it's true!

Sounds beleivable, due to it's proximity to Sonic Spinball and it's age. Thanks for the info, interesting bit of news there, hope it's a reliable source.
It\'s Big Bob, it\'s Big Bob, it\'s Big Bobs radio show.

I true find it believable - I'd love to see the Alton MTDP one of these days that surely must be nearing completion and get a firm hand on this!

Mack YoungStar... PLEASE!

To be fair, I don't see what else could possibly fill the Beastie's miniscule footprint. Add a shiny new kid's coaster if you will, but I don't see the benefit of removing the Beastie unless it is structurally unsound.

That last corner gives shockingly high laterals! :D
For some things there is no rational explanation. There is no way out. There is no happy ending to this story. Welcome to the unknown. Welcome to eternal darkness.

Was told by my trainer whilst touring the park today, so yep its a reliable source :D
hopefully it will be a MACK, the park could really do with a brilliantly themed coaster for the children 8)

Saying that though, I do agree with gloomy dude, the footprint of beastie is very small, Fitting in a decent coaster could be tricky, But we all know how good alton are when it comes to fitting things in small spaces :P

Finally they are removing that vile Pinfari beast. I have never received so many bruises from a theme park attraction before after one go. :P I just hope they will replace it with something half decent! [-o<

Hmm... what are they going to do with Adventure Land though?

I'd expect, when Spinball goes in 3 years, that the whole area will be rethemed, hopefully with continuity to Storybook Land (and call the entire area Storybook Land again formally). If they replaced Beastie now I'd hate for them to create the miscellaneous, loud and ultimately tacky Adventure Land theming that's there right now. They have a chance to start over again.

They should wait a while and overhaul the area in one go. Meanwhile, the should work on getting the Ice show back again or occupying one of the many houses in CCL.

You work there? I recommend you be very careful about what you post on here, as the park DO read it. I'd suggest you change your name to something more anonymous and keep giving us juicy information. PM Kaycee or Craig for a name change. :)

Thats one thing that has puzzled me, What could they do with adventure land?, as said including it with storybook land is one option, but with sonic SB now likely to be staying on park for 3 years this is highly unlikely :?

Like Sir John Talbot said, they have many other options for space that could be used for a childrens ride/attraction , so i really hope they replace the beastie with something new and not just leave the space unused!

NOOOOO!

For what it is, The Beastie is great and it is (can't believe I am saying this) a very lovable ride. It has a soul and a big personality. Also, for a kiddie coaster, it is rather good, I actually found myself enjoying it!

But it is old, and the MACK Young Star is being raved about, so mayb eit is time to move on.

The next oldest coaster after the beastie is the runaway mine train. Obviously there are those who'd argue its not a coaster, but it deserves a mention at the very least.
Mr P

I think Beastie's time at Alton is up, it does look old, not really what a Resort should have. a replacement in that footprint though? Gonna have to be compact, Pinfari Apple Coaster anyone? :D/
oldgitBEN

oh no i love the beastie!
Not suprised tho, its showing its age and looks abit tired.
After realising that it hadnt recieved the sonic paintjob (as it did when spinball arrived) i guessed Beasties days were numbered.

Yep glad its going soon!
It just looks tacky and old fashioned for a park like AT, the beastie would be more suited to a fun fair or small park, not AT. Parks like AT need nice shiny modern coasters to keep their image good, but the beastie makes the park look cheap and a new coaster is definitely needed. IT just doesn't suit AT any more. It should probably ahev been replaced years ago especially when it is the only proper kiddie coaster in the park.

Bring on a MACK! wwwwwwoooooo!

This is the perfect time to utilise the well themed entrance to the tent and put a bit of life back in to Storybook land. Decent dark ride/coaster for the nippers in the Ice Show tent please!

The Beastie footprint can be used for a small childrens flat. Something a bit more hardcore than the Frog Hopper, but less scary for nippers than a Waveswinger. Any suggestions?

I hope we see an 'Enchanted Wood' styled area. Could work really well with talking trees etc,
