Haha, I'm pretty sure I overheard something like that aswell! One of those moments where you really lose faith in humanity if people can not tell the difference between a ride and a couple of pieces of track not connected to anything #-o
On Saturday I heard "If we get lost, meet up in front of the castle!" Castle!?
Can't wait to get some pictures of the 'screws when the sky is blue and the sun is out!

Very nice, they have done the iconic ride that put Alton Towers on the map justice. Congrats to the towers

Yay! I'm glad they picked smart colours rather than going for anything too tacky. I would have thought a fresh coat of yellow would have been the best, but the purple is the next best and adds a majestic touch!
Makes me want to watch my fan vid again! :P

We visited AT the first weekend in April, and the minute we walked in we were amazed, the corkscrew looks amazing! The colours definaltey do it justice and the ride info is a nice touch.

I love looking back from the bottom of Towers Street towards the plaza, where you can just see the top of the screws towering over the gate. It's a great view and what the area (plaza) was in need of.

That picture kicks all kinds of ancient roller coaster butt! They really have done such a fantastic job with these and I am actually really glad of the colours chosen, really does look fantastic and adds something that was missing to the area before.
If you go down to the Towers today, you\'d better ride Th13teen. :P

Evening shots of ol' Corky seem to be the best, huh?
what I have never noticed before is that the first corkscrew is larger (height wise) than the second! :P
Its just a trick of perspective, the first screw will appear higher as its in the direct foreground, the second will appear smaller as its in the distance and futher away.

That is a gorgeous image. The lighting really brings out the gold, actually looks like it is made from real gold and not just paint.

MY HAND IS A DOLPHIN!!! >:O
*Honest Cint!*
Are you sure it's not just perspective, looking at the plans for those corkscrews there doesn't seem to be any perceivable difference to me...
To keep the train going the same speed through each inversion, Vekoma take a normal double corkscrew and tilt it around 10 degrees, which makes it appear like one is bigger than the other. Actually, they are both the same radius but slanted towards the ground slightly. It's more noticeable when you are looking at them side-on and are stood back.
