of the one's I've been on, batman la fuga edges it in terms of forces- gave me some real tingly leg moments! but nemmy is the better ride.

I'll give a quick run-down of the 5 other inverts I've been on and how close they are to Nemesis in intensity from 1 to 10 (with Nemesis being a ten).

Nemesis Inferno
Probably my favorite of the rest, really a great ride in it's own right. Although the loop is not as powerful as Nemesis and it lacks the incredible pacing Nemmy has (due to Nemmy's continuously dropping layout, rather than all other inverts being at their fastest point after the first drop), the Zero-G after the loop I find VERY intense, and if I remember right there is a very intense helix at the end of the ride. 7/10

Dueling Dragons Ice
If you evaluate these rides purely as stand-alone rides, without the interaction of it's twin they really aren't that intense, which isn't a bad thing in context of the concept. I don't really remember Ice having any moments to match Nemmy intensity. 5/10

Dueling Dragons Fire
In terms of pure ride intensity, fire fares better. The first drop was sharper than Ice's, and pretty intense, as I remember the Zero-G roll being (it was 5 years ago, I don't remember that well). 6/10

Infusion
A totally crap ride in my opinion, one where I felt almost nothing all the way round the track. The only slight hint of intensity for me was the first drop, but this was done much better and more intense on the coaster below. After that, nothing grabbed me at all, especially the first two inversions. 3/10

Kumali
A very good ride I thought, one that could almost pull it's weight among B&M inverts. The bottom of the first drop is an absolute monster, especially the whip round into the loop! The loop entrance and exits also seemed rather unusually forceful, and the cobra roll too to a lesser extent. After that, boring but nothing wrong with just having a very intense first half! 7/10

Well I've been on:
Nemesis
Inferno
Kumali
Infusion
(Jubilee Odyssey was closed when I visited last year)

Not really that many, is it? Out of those, there isn't really much contest if you ask me. It's Nemy every time!
No.

I loved it but I was expecting something more.
When was it you went on for the first time?

The park set expectations high in 1994 because Nemesis was setting a standard, nothing like it had been seen in Europe, and even in America the idea was still fresh.

The hype was incredible and well deserved at the time...the legacy has carried on now and late riders have a really high expectation of what it's going to be like.....most of the time unfortunaely later riders have experienced newer, more intense experiences and it all seems a little over the top....the ride still has such a strong british following because of the impact it made in 1994.

Now...I don't want to get into the same argument that went on a few years back regarding this.....but has anyone stood back and looked at the whole attraction from the entrance to forbidden valley, all the way through the queue and finally the ride....comparing that to other rides...other then Hex I feel Nemesis is the most intense attraction for first time riders that i've ever encountered, whereas the actual rollercoaster itself may not thrill like it used to.

Anyone else also feel the rollercoaster (especially statistics like G force) is irrelevant on it's own when comparing theme park rides and their intensity

Is the rush of standing next to a vertical loop buried in a trench for the first time, as 64 feet go whizzing past your head at 50mph, the wind catching you off guard and the screams echoing around the pit more intense then the ride itself?

I think the only way you could truly answer this question is to get a forcemeter and have some ride every single inverted rollercoaster in the world. But seeing as how that isn't likely to happen, Nemesis must be up there, the helix is mental.

This is all down to opinion. I have to say that is the most intense inverter I have ever been on but it is not all down to statistics. I just get that feeling of fear around Nemesis with all the theming and music, this possibly make it more intense for me. I am not saying that Nemmie is not that intense by statistics, I mean look at the helix, it is metal like Matt.C said. :)

Its certainly the best inverted coaster I've been on, and the helix is one of my favourite parts of any ride.

I'd rate Duelling Dragons Fire slightly higher, but Nemesis is certainly right up there as one of the best IMO.

Ahhhh! One of the reasons I wanted to visit the states :)

Inferno - Not a patch on Nemesis running on a good day.
Great Bear - Moments almost touching Nemesis, but generally a "fun" ride rather than intense.
Talon - At least three points where it is more forceful than Nemesis and the flow of the ride is much better.
Alpengeist - Makes Nemesis look like a kitten
Batman the Ride (Six Flags Great Adventure) Painfully intense from drop to brakes - I've never had a coaster punish me quite so much from the high forces.

So, for me, Nemesis is fourth out of the six in terms of intensity. Let me tell you though, intensity isn't all it's cracked up to be and shouldn't be the thing you're hunting for. There's a lot more makes an invert than its intensity. Batman was the most intense, but probably my least favourite of the six.
If you\'ve got a problem, stuff a worm in it!

not the best.. for INTENSITY
duelling dragons imo is the best....

who-ever..

Nemisis is still my favourite.. in this ride type.
Why?
The theme, that is why.

The design of the ride, is IMO perfection.

Also I guess loyalty :?:
I rode Nemi year 1.
Have experienced every year since.
(and sister 3 times)
Pretty much bar this year.. and last year did not ride. (last year no visit)
(When I went this year line times where advised at 1.30 I have no patience for that now at my advanced aged years.. ;) )
