Sorry for double post but what is leroy 2009 jones on going on about it being B&M?
He's been saying that since he joined the forum. At the moment, anything could be true (although I dont think it will be B&M in my opinion)
15 minutes to go though! I was wondering if anyone had visited recently and taken any pictures of the site? It would be interesting to see if the path through the forest had been cleared, to give a scale of the ride.

I'm going to post my thoughts. I don't know what to believe. It is most likely not a real campaign, but without any actual hard evidence it is hard to say for sure either way.
1) "Marketing people don't work until 11.30pm":
Maude clearly stated they were a small company. If they really are a small company, even a small budget from Merlin could be big money to these guys. Small companies often work all hours to ensure their success. Also, when is the time that most people are going to be online? In the evenings. Having said that 11.30pm is just a little too late maybe.
2) "A viral campaign doesn't say that they are a viral campaign":
Who says? Surely a viral campaign can do whatever it wants in order to generate interest. It was stated that this was only part of the campaign, directly aimed at people like us. For ages we have wanted questions answered, but as soon as someone offers to then we assume it's not a viral campaign. Obviously they aren't going to give any important information like what the world's first element is.
From the other point of view, most of this looks fairly fake, but hats off to people for keeping it going this long - and generating this much activity.
Finally, if this was a real campaign then surely this evenings work has been hugely successfully with the amount of interest this has created. You can't take that away from them.
One last thing - it's actually been pretty fun, aside from the few spats between users. Surely that is the main thing? And if this can be kept friendly and interesting then any activity is good for the general public as well. This is most likely a much more interesting topic now than compared to the "boring" manufacturer discussion, which most people wouldn't care about and would consider us "geeks". Show some scary videos and many more people will be interested.

Leeroy and Billyrae are just idiots who need to learn to act there age! I'm ashamed to be from Nottingham if Billy really is from there!
Anyways back on topic, its a lot more interesting following these clips and snippets rather than going round and round about who the maker of the ride is and what the world first element is,
Keep it up chaps its good reading (between the rubbish posts)

Lets wait until half past, I'm going to be making my mind up for sure then. I think the next update will give us a good idea of what's really going on, it's all good fun anyway! If it's real, I can't imagine there being another update after this next one today so it could really be key to what's going to happen in terms of keeping us interested for a little while longer.
May I be the first to ask - who is the ride manufacturer?
Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard will be manufacturing the new ride. The design will be an experimental design for them, as their new ride model has two-seats-per-row trains and track layouts similar to Intamin AG Mega-Lites.
There is a link, hidden on a part of the official Alton Towers website. Not only will it confirm that this marketing campaign is officially linked to Alton Towers, it will also reveal the name of Secret Weapon 6.
The first 14 people to find the link will be on the first ever train of SW6.

Have fun, and don't forget to ride the fantabulous SW6 at the Alton Towers Resort!

Im a pessimist now though - cant see B&M making this ride. However, I will eat my words if one day proven wrong *shrugs*
i know alot of people use fantabulous but i know someone thats had some vids on youtube that uses that to describe his camera man every episode.
Hope you know who i mean dont really want to name any names tbh.
Alton Towers use the word themselves, Shawn Sanbrooke didn't invent it.

Oh dear...
What a shame, I was really hoping that this was real... but that post has ruined it all.
There's still a small piece of me that believes it all, but I think it's just wishful thinking as I would LOVE another B&M.
Ah well... was fun while it lasted...

That was a post of somebody who knew they had been found out.
If there is a link to a secret competition on the website I'll eat my hat.
Its been a fun night but thats the end of that.
Hopefully this silliness will end tonight and there won't be any more fake videos.
They have gotten just as tedious as the ride manufacturer debate.
I await a real marketing campaign, hopefully around the summer.

Surely Alton Towers would be using Headland. There's a link to headland on AT's website. They've worked together before why would AT jump ship...
The latest post has made me highly sceptical, i can't be bothered anymore....I'm of to bed

Im finding this hard to belive! Why would B&M totally change their track design when the one they have used in the past is so successful! I hoped for this to be real! Im sure Alton would have given an official announcement of a competition on there site relating to SW6!
