I was travelling towards London on the afternoon of Jan 28th and saw a lorry with Purple Cable car carriages on the back going up the M6. They were not sign written and brand new with dark tinted windows. Are they for Alton Towers????

Yes they are the ones!!! When did you get the photos?
I saw 4 or 5 of the same colour on one lorry.

I've always wanted to see rides and what not getting transported on the Motorway. Would be so cool driving past a B&M Lorry seeing some top secret coaster being delivered! :D

Wes:

Yes i think im very lucky. I was a passanger so i noticed the odd coloured load first and then told the driver and we both saw it drive by!
Didn't have enough time to photograph it though unfortunately and i watched it go past and even through the back window of the car!.

There's nothing new to be read into this is there? Just more of what we already have?

Yep! I'm sure this topic will be locked.
Satch

Doesnt make sense as to why they went up the M6 though. M1 would be a much better route, without having to navigate Stoke, but a straight route along the A50...

When I first read the title of this thread my immediate thought was "Doesn't sound like testing has gone well!" Seriously I love seeing things like this, last Friday I saw 3 or 4 lorries full of the table salt that was heading south to grit the roads.

Dying to see some racing team lorries on the motorway, seen the BTCC Team RAC ones and sadly won't see the Subaru ones now but never mind!

They look really nice but how long before some evil little chavs draw in them or break the chairs etc..

I hope to god that there are gonna be cameras in them to prevent this so the little mites can be prosecuted for damages etc

That would be a great idea! And then if there's some way in which the staff can talk to the people on the cable car then they can order them to stop or they'll be kicked out of the park.

The Monorails haven't been abused from what I've seen so hopefully the new Skyride's won't.

If they cause any damage just keep them going around doing loops on the Skyride. Enough to put anyone off doing it again!

That would probably make them damage them even more! :P

Hopefully no-one will be stupid enough to vandalize the gondolas but unfortunately it's probably inevitable that come the end of the season some of them will be damaged.

They'll hardly break the windows will they?

I'm sure they'll be nothing Alton couldn't easily fix. :)
