What's that got to do with security?

Copy that post and make it into staff complaints

The first time I went I was 12 and all my mates and me wereall wearing leeds shirt and we got chased by these 15ish liverpool lads. But we out ran them as they were all gasping for air, me thinks they all had a smoking habit.

Just last week they caught me kicking in a speaker as i was queing for corkscrew. I did this because the bloody music is crap! I am going to make a formal complaint to the manager to change the cheese boy music to some hardcore techno trance tune! :?

ye, u total scum bag. ug land is one of the best, if not, the best themed area in alton towers! the music really adds to the prehistoric/stoneage effect, and lets face it. who wants to stand in a queue listening to the ride going round the track? why did u even bother posting here? this is about security issues. not the fact u hate the alton towers music. please dont vandal it, its a wicked park!. btw. yes i also agree the security leaves sumthing to be desired, have u ever seen a security guard walking round the park? fortunatly ive never gotten into any kind of trouble with other guests in the park, but i know of many people who have..

I thing the campain for getting badley behaved people of the streets and taking them to alton towers is a verry bad idea.

They tend to spoil the day for every one else, by being yobish, arragent and even phisicley dangerous.

I'll give you an example of the above.

Mum and i went on hex at around 3 o'clock on the 14th of august of last year. And on our right Was a group of people who were talking loud and gave the impression that they don't give a dam about any one else. I sensed that trouble was comming, though i didn't tell mum at the time.

Any back to the story. we went through the preshows with those arragent and selfish gits, And every time a preshow ends, the air is filled with a lot of "yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahs" and general screaming and yelling as if their on another ride besides hex. The This was really irritating for the rest of us in general [myself in particular] because since i had no eye sight, i had to relie on the sounds and dilog of the ride, and i couldn't hear it verry well! any way their was no ride opperator until the vault, and she lost it and told those yobs to pack it in, or get slung out. we applorded her for that.

anyway the point i'm trying to make is that We sshould of had a ride operator to accompony a group going through the ride. like on the haunting at dreighton manor park.

Those of you who were on hex at the time above, will probably know what i mean.

In my opinion, i think that taking badley behaved kids to alton towers so as to keep them off the streets is a verry bad idea.

They tend to spoil the day for every one else by being yobish, arragent and fizickly dangerous.

I'll give you gies an example of the above.

Mum and i went on hex around 3 o'clock on the 14th of august of last year, and on our right are a group of 20 yobish people who were talking loudley and generally gave the impression that they don't give a dam about any one else. I sensed immediatly that trouble was coming, though i didn't tell mum at the time.
Anyway we went through the ride with these people, and every time a preshow ends, [even the introductory speech], the air is filled with a lot of "yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahs!" and general screaming and yelling as if their on nemesis or some other roller coaster. This was really anoying for the rest of us in general [myself in particular] because owing to having no eye sight i had to reliy on the sounds and dilog of the ride to follow the plot., and we kept shouting at the guilty party to "shut up!" any way their was no operator until the vault. and she told those 20 people to pack it in, or get slung out. we applorded her for that.

The point i'm trying to make is that we should have had an operator with us through the entire ride to cut down on the behavier problems.
Those of you who were on the ride at the time above will probably know what i mean.

Ps, sorry for duplicating the poast, i forgot their was an edit option to this kind of poasting

In general park security, AT seems pretty laxed as in USA (and i know there more likey to be attack, etc than AT) Esp. Florida parks u can't even sneeqe outside the park until you have been checked.(over exhaggeration, I know) but every bit of luggage that is carried through their gates is checked!!

I don't know if its just me, but I can't seem to remember AT doing that past or present.

This isn't just a recent thing, though, in the first season of Air being open a friend of mine had his bag stolen from the station cages. And during fireworks 2003 me and a friend were having a mock argument in the Nemmie queue, over-exaggerating our points etc purely for the comedy of each other, and a group of 'chav' types behind us got involved - "iz you really gunna take dat from 'im? give 'im a slap or I will, innit" - I'd have taken it in my stride but they were serious, if we hadn't got to the station one of them would have thrown a punch.

Alton needs on foot security guards patrolling over the entire park.

I haven't seen anything myself, but I've heard of a fair few incidents! I think the presence of more secuirty guard, bouncer-esque guys around would help though and I definitely think certain queue lines would benefit from CCTV surveillance!

Worst I've ever seen was writing on the queue line for Collosus at Thorpe. I was pretty disgusted, do these people they're some kind of rebels or something!? Badasses!!

TeasingTigress, do you really need to state the point that they were ethnic :?: in my area i know that the "etchnic" people are usually the quietist and the english scumbags are usually the people that attack old people as they travel to teh shops to get a bag of tea bags for there good night tea break. So im quite disgusted at your post and think a bit to much stereotyping is in this topic.

when i was a young thrill seeker i found the best secuirty systems must be at chessington the same thing has happened to me in all 3 parks. 've been approched by older boys thinking it would be a laugh to follow me around and itimidate me but only chessington staff chased after 2 18year old boys and chucked them both out and i heard they called the police

Shut the hell up he can say what ever he wants and to tell you the truth most crime is caused by etchnic people!

Back on topic - They need to have better CCTV by the main rides and make it so that you can see them and not to hide them away in the trees.

They also need Police like people walking around the park so people see that they are being watched. They should even do what they do in the USA and have security walking about in normal cloths so they can catch people out.

They should also ban chewing gum and hoodies like Magic Mountain.

And alton will be a better place! :D

Whilst I've been there, I'd say that the chavs haven't been the greatest security problem - for me it tends to be the massive gangs of Asian Youths who visit the park.

They generally nick everything in sight and are a real pain in the arse. They're so blase' about it too - they'll take something, they're spotted, confronted about it and insist they have done nothing wrong.

You can usually tell when they've done something too, because they'll walk away with a big fat grin on their face.

Pathetic really.

I've also been involved in a case where several asian youths intimidated a group of guests and threw one person up against a wall - they were escorted off park around 10 minutes after the incident, you'll be glad to hear.

I know I'm generalising quite a bit here - and I apologise if I offend any good asian youths who may be here - but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Good on you!

One thing I can't stand with people is that if you mention true facts like 70% of crime is caused by Asians, etchnics and Africans they go oooo your racist init me blud an the usual ****.
