Morning everyone :)

Lifelong Theme Park geek, but new Merlin Pass holder, so having many more visits this season compared to others.

Have a 6 year old daughter so over summer so far we've had at least 1 visit per week to the southern parks (live in Surrey so all 3 are a short drive) and last week we had 2 days at Towers.

First time there since I went on a school trip (Hex was the new ride then.....) and am now thoroughly obsessed with Wickerman - what a perfect coaster experience. Although our back of the train, afternoon ride put our daughter off (she'd loved front row during ERT)

But I'm popping up for an adults only day next month and hoping to fit in a good few goes on it along with the rest of the big 7. Adore Nemesis and Th13teen was much more fun than I expected it be too.

The main park we visit is CWOA as it's the perfect amount of extreme with our daughter, she's in love with Kobra and Tiger Rock. Looking forward to Howl-O-Ween.

At Thorpe I'm a big fan of Stealth, The Swarm and Inferno.

Hey everyone! Looking forward to contributing and learning more about the awesome parks y'all have in the UK. A little about me, I'm from California in the USA. I'm a huge theme park fan and have been so for more than half of my life at this point. Ever since I got my hands on some coaster books when I was a young enthusiast and read about Nemesis and more specifically Oblivion, Alton Towers has always been on my bucket list! So I am actually headed to London for work for the first time in a few weeks. I managed to stay overseas an extra day and so I'm trying to figure out which park to hit while I'm there although I plan on coming back in a couple of years and doing everything you all have there! I'll make a separate post in the Trip Planning forum for that :)

Welcome to the forum.

Hope you get to visit Alton Towers, do check out the opening times as they are only open certain days off season. I recommend riding Nemesis front row, but other may disagree and say back row, but do try both. Do let us know how the UK parks compare to the USA.  I've never been to the USA myself.  Have a great visit to London, there is plenty to do

Welcome to the forum Maverick2007 :)

If you're in the London area then the easiest parks to do would be Thorpe Park or Chessington World of Adventures. If it's thrills and coasters you want then Thorpe Park will be your best option. Make sure you check the opening hours though as like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park is closed on some weekdays during September and October, then it closes for the season at the end of October.

I've not had the chance to visit California yet myself, but do hope to get to the US West Coast at some point. I've done a fair amount of the East Coast of the US so hopefully will get to see some more of the States too.

Hey all,

What a great place, I love reading about Alton Towers!

I used to go 4 times a year in the late 80's & 90's when I was a kid, then when I hit adulthood, it's only been sporadically visits since.

Then we went last October with some free tickets & got the bug back so have an Annual Pass for this year & did our 5th trip of the year yesterday.

Hey all!
My name is Kelly and I consider myself a towers enthusiast lol
I haven't got a MAP or season pass but i could get one for the 2020 season.
Because of this i only go about 2-3 times a year, but i still payout when it comes to memorabillia..
I do know alot about rollercoasters though.
Ive known about this forum for ages but never made an account, so here i am!
Nice to meet you all!
