rides in the ug land area (not sure about else where) just had to close, massive power cut and all lights went out!

Fire Engines by the skyride building in Frobidden Valley apparently. It may not be the skyride itself though, although that station is the main drive one isn't it?

If it is the skyride main drive building, then this may have caused the powercut, because there is a load of electrics underneath, and also the Diesel for the back up power system.

Sammie and Tom are currently stuck on the monorail.
Sarah, Matt, Ant and can't remember who else are headed for UG Land, they say they've heard Corky and Rita going. Also saying there's ALOT of smoke.

Yes, AFAIK that's the main drive one, says so on all the plaques around the place.
Hope no-one's hurt. The SkyRide would be long shut, though, cause it needs to shut at dusk anyway.

Yep i was there at the time it was the main drive station for the skyride and the trees surrounding the exit of the station. There were 2 fire ngines which i saw and someone said that it was serious. There is not much damage apparently now but the fire spread very close to the edge games arcade and the mutant racer at the top of the valley. Lookily none of Altons decent themeing has being damaged.
