Re: Forgotten History
There are definitely some of these marker posts along the old route from Quixhill gate, up past King Ina's rock etc. If I recall correctly there may be one along the Woodland Walk from the hotels to the park, might be slightly off the main footpath though. Possibly some around the Cuckoo Rock/Statio...

Re: Abandoned
The original queue for Nemesis was absolutely enormous, way larger than is necessary these days to cater for it's queues. There used to be another extension which more recently formed part of the queue line for Nemesis Sub Terra and prior to that Dynamo. The part that ran around the vertical loop pi...

Re: Heritage
My favourite part of the resort is the heritage to be honest, particularly now that I'm old and grumpy to actually go on the rides. I love going for a wander around the Towers and the gardens, there's so much to see! For those interested in Towers heritage, the various iterations of Michael J Fisher...

Re: Disney Bans Smoking in ALL Parks
Seems like a great idea. As a non smoker there's literally nothing I hate more than being in a queue where people are smoking.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion
Just something to note if travelling to/from Alton Towers from the South this weekend. The M6 between j13 and j14 will be closed from 8pm on Saturday 23rd until some point on Sunday 24th in order to demolish a footbridge as part of the SM-ALR works. There's likely to be significant delays from aroun...

Re: Planning- Sweden 2019
I visited Liseberg one weekend in June 2014, and whilst the park was very busy I didn't think the queues were bad to be fair. They have a vast selection of rides that help soak the crowds up well, and also due to the long opening times you can usually easily fit everything in. We did Balder and Heli...

Re: General Forum Discussion
I'm starting to get big red warning signs in the URL bar in Android Chrome for the forum. It's simply unhappy the site is http not https, but I haven't seen it do this before. Previously it's just been an information icon. I know Google are on a push to make everything SSL based, but it appears the...

Re: Drayton Manor
I have a question about the “Pirate Adventure” ride. Were is it in the park? I is it open? It's the warehouse looking building here: https://goo.gl/maps/45kXHyKsHjM2 Regarding whether it's open, it is still close unfortunately. I believe what I posted last year is still accurate. Anybody got any i...

Re: Drayton Manor
Is it?? It’s one of the best attractions there.. if it is being replaced, then a major coaster is needed to replace it Supposedly it's due to the terrible reliability it has been having over the last couple of years. The trains chassis needs to replaced, quoted at over £200,000.00 and apparently th...

Re: Drayton Manor
G-Force is going to be removed this season apparently. I wonder if we will see a replacement any time soon? It leaves the park with only one decent coaster.

Re: What happened to Ripsaw?
They really should have just bought a new Top Spin as they're great rides and relatively inexpensive. However, this is a Merlin park, they don't do flats.

Bit of a late reply, but quite a lot of the ride is actually up by Merlin Studios North, behind Cloud Cuckoo Land.Dan wrote:It got sent to the scrap heap :lolPhNx Survivor wrote:What ever happened to Submission?

Re: Alton Towers Magic Making Museum
It would be a fantastic addition to the resort, and not necessarily something that would only be targeted at enthusiasts. It's not unusual to hear the general public reminiscing about old rides and attractions. Towers have rather large archives, I'm sure they could quite easily create some sort of m...
