Re: The World of David Walliams - Opening 2021
There’s a new video from the park about the behind the scenes of how the ride was made, the ride looks like it's going to be a neat little dark ride in my opinion.

Re: Forgotten History
As someone who's very familiar with the public areas of the park I can genuinely say that I've never seen these around the park or even around the chained oak walk, although there may be some tucked away in areas zoned off to the public. Alton Towers in part due to it's size has loads of weird nooks...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future
Throwing it back to 2017 with a repost of the following post relating to Thorpe's application for 'permitted development rights', which has today been granted an extension of time to 13 April 2021 for a decision. This comes after more than a year of inactivity, suggesting that they may now finally...

Re: Black Mirror Labyrinth
Black Mirror is my favourite TV show so I'm over the moon that this is the 2020 addition, it makes me much happier than some RMC and seeing everyone moan about it not being an RMC has made me laugh. Black Mirror as a show is an anthology series so Thorpe Park/Merlin Magic Making should have quite a...

They remind me of the Pizza delivery machines that keep running people over rather than the dogs from Metalhead.ponder wrote:Am I the only one imagining some kind of Black Mirror scenario where the Coke-bots gain sentience and take control of the park? :lol

Re: Rides & Attractions

Here's a summary of a Times article with senior management for the project, posted on the TS forums.
First actual update that isn't some PR exercise and info about ride hardware rather than vague concept art.

Re: Project 2020
Not an RMC please. People have been pleading for Thorpe Park to get one but I don’t think they it’s the best option for them. They need a reliable roller coaster with a strong USP (No ridiculous World’s First though) and there are plenty of manufacturers out there such as Premier, S&S, Intamin, ...

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020
If they charged £2.50 for entrance fee they would still lose loads of money even if all the rides were closed.

Re: The Future of Hex
Merlin Magic Making has never had nothing to do with Hex, It was built under Tussuads and the 2017 refurb was done under Towers Ents team.
I don’t mean to come off as rude here but, how come MMM had a presentation on Hex? This just makes me wonder what was spoken about.

Re: Overcoming fears: Tamest and most thrilling seat for each coaster
My tip is to overwhelm yourself with excitement, get yourself worked up in the queue line and avoid any negative thoughts as much as possible until you are locked into the restraints. Then remember to relax do not tense yourself in any circumstances as you will only injure yourself. Then all you hav...

I really feel sorry for the person who had to painstakingly remove the VR from the map for such a small detail few people will notice.

Re: Alton Towers Stargazing Pods - Opening April 12th 2019
I reckon the prices are so high this season is because of the whole supply/demand thing that comes with new accommodation, I’d imagine the prices will be lower in the long term, I believe EV and CBeebies land hotel had price drops in the second season.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Food and Beverage
Can anyone explain to me why Katanga Canyon has a Greek themed restaurant and X-Sector has a 50’s themed restaurant it’s looks really out of place.
I get they wanted to rebrand and all that but why did they change the themes of the restaurants? Don’t they own these brands anyway?

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion
What do you mean “Thorpe have had 3 off years”? This is the first “off” season Thorpe have had in a long while, and the argument “Thorpe needs a new coaster” is awful. Thorpe has had a number of issues in the past years which has led them to get virtually completely different management this season ...

Re: Merlin General Discussion
I hope this is the start of something positive to come for Merlin. They could really do with the increase of guests and revenue about now, maybe even see the start in bigger budgets for some of the parks. Apart from the fact they announced RTP Capex would be reduced to fund Midway and Legoland deve...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions
Here’s the tip that worked for me, get yourself excited enough before hand and in the queue think positive thoughts on how excited you are to ride and it’ll drown any anxiety until it’s too late, as you make you way up the lift/ wait for the launch just relax and do not tense yourself.

Why on earth are people thinking about “teasers” for a 2020 coaster?
