Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Hiedi Ho, People Read that right and rhymes a bit lol. Anyway, admittedly I've not taken the time to through and read everything on here, so forgiveness be requested if what I say has been brought up / discussed or maybe even "case closed" earlier. Much talk seems to be the trend of late c...

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Good afternoon y'all. Not posted on here since the building of the Smiler, so firstly... "Hi!" Now, I've had a brief squiz through the forum and looked at stuff and read stuff so bear with me here, folks as I'm crawling up to date with all you frequenters of posting. So, my thoughts..........

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

At the end of the day it says "dont use photography" so people caught doing it are breaking the rules. Simple as that! I don't think it's allowed at any part of the day; start, middle or end. It's a bit late to only say that at the end of the day. (To pre-emp any potential argumentative r...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I love forums - always ready to receive a good ol' argument! "Roar!" (I'm not IN love with forums - I used the term loosely.) I'm wondering, is this jigger about the first (or "final" if you ride the thing back to front) inversion really THAT important to be posting about in a ma...

Re: The Smiler

[Stttrrrrreeeeeeeetttccchhh] Queue - It was long. I didn't find the queue as entertaining as I expected. It might be worth noting that I get bored as easily as an ADD sufferer who's watching paint dry. For me, it was just a queue - although much thanks to the guy who managed to start a queue long m...

Re: The Smiler

[Stttrrrrreeeeeeeetttccchhh] Been a while since I've posted........ I'd read that the last couple of inversions are a little brutal. I rode it twice and on the former ride, the penultimate inversion crushed my right testicle. Yes they are a little brutal. (You'll be pleased to know that for my seco...

Re: The Smiler

[Stttrrrrreeeeeeeetttccchhh] Been a while since I've posted........ I was supposed to be going on Wednesday this week but had to delay it by a day, very ironically due to having a new washing machine delivered! Anyway, time for a review; where to begin.... Queue - It was long. I didn't find the queu...

So this "Miles Cedars" character..........

It's clearly "Smile Scared" - adding to the apparent horror of smiling.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

As part of the "General" bit of this discussion: Firstly; thanks to all who have provided great information and updates throughout the build of this ride - I've found it all rather insightful and interesting, having never followed a ride being built before. The Smiler seems to lure me and ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I would have "quoted" the above, but part of my finger has just been filed away scrolling through it so I'll save everyone else the hassle. I would, however, like to comment briefly on the above novella by saying: Interesting....... That bit's not sarcastic, by the way. Well said and very ...

Re: The Smiler - Other Discussion

Do you think The Smiler will push Oblivion to the side? Not that i'm not extremely excited for this! but I just fell that our beloved Bivvy will be sunken and tiny in comparison to this beast! she won't be the first thing you look at as you enter! she will lose her fear and overpowering status, she...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Let's hope they have a virtual queue on this thing. I understood that to be "mental cues" meaning "a point in which a mental or psychological element will be instigated" Not a queue but a cue  ;) Edit by Boz: Please do not chain quote, only quote the bit you need, and remove the...

Re: The Smiler - Other Discussion

While we're talking about advertising... Out of curiosity, when AT says The Smiler is an £18m investment, would this include the marketing costs or would that come from their general marketing budget? I'd have a guess and say they've included some marketing in the "investment" From a fina...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

You wanna cover the track in this shizzle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD83dqSfC0Y Don't bother going all practical on me now, peeps - it's a supposition and I'm not realistically suggesting it will be done! Still - it'd frighten the monkeys out of many folk if the track (or train) were to be coa...

Meh........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=FCQpyDcabaY It might be the dim lighting of the room I'm sat in but after this I looked at my sofa and it kinda wobbled. (Although the effects didn't last last and I'm sure some people will be immune to the effects.) Post Scri...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Should be about 10 minutes. What?? 10 minutes?? More like 200hrs plus for testing. Hahhahahaha. I think that this is related to the discussion of the inspection buggy thing that B&M use, we said that if it traveled at 1mph it would take about 8.5 mins to check.... Realistically testing will tak...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

so sad construction has come to an end but still theyve still got a lot do before testing starts and before it opens cant wait to ride it but bring on SW8 There seems to be a general consensus of a negative demeanour that construction (of the track only) has been completed. There's other bits to be...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Arh ok i cant play the game so that's why i didn't know. As for construction was any more of the lift put in today or is it still how it was earlier? Time to join in the debate here as I think there's a point (something which I was thinking but never had the brass to express, for fear of all you fi...
