Re: Area Speculation and Discussion
I can see it being more katanga themed but its far to close to mutiny bay to be katanga or gloomy wood IMO so I think we'll see minor themeing changes to mutiny bay to accommodate it. It could be a pirates voyage to an island with paganism. The idea of an "Island" is actually probably the...

Re: SW8
This is likely completely unconnected to the SW8 development but I stumbled across a film trailer faintly similar to the details we have so far about the theme of the project. In the trailer we see a "Wickerman" type monster physically breaking through the ground which obviously shares a l...

Re: SW8
With plans seemingly changing so early in the development with the flumes station being demolished, I'm still holding out for a more advanced layout or something more to the ride than originally shown on the plans. They've hidden elements of rides before and this was more than evident during the Smi...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train
I've said this too. Baggage will go, photos will be moved, therefore making a large enough space for a new scene. Personally, I still stand by the idea that it will be used as a maze style exit, similar to Sub Terra at Alton to give it a final kick as you leave! I would agree with you there and I p...

Re: Fright Nights
Thorpe Park uploaded some pictures of the interior of The Big Top today on snap chat.I can't upload the images but it seemed to take a funhouse approach with lots of masks, hanging bags and game stands etc. It almost looked like an abandoned jungle gym. I could be wrong but one of the pictures also ...

Re: Fright Nights
Thorpe Park have posted this trailer for Fright Nights to their YouTube channel. It seems to focus on Platform 15 with some nice visuals, along with the usual small clips of jump scares within the attractions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcwkgWm8ES4" onclick="window.open(this.href);ret...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion
I'm completely against the media and I do agree that this event has been over-sensationalised, but should anything be falling off a ride if it's claimed to be checked everyday? I'm well aware it proves no risk to anybody and the ride is 100% safe, but the park should still be excruciatingly checking...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - New for 2016
An attendant at guest services (a DBGT actor left idle for the day) was trying to keep the line calm and said they don't expect the ride to open until at least Thursday. It's a recurring fault and they're keeping it closed to fix it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Well at least they are looking...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - New for 2016
I think people need to use a bit of common sense and calm down a bit. People are always asking for ground-breaking attractions and begging for bigger and more advanced attractions in the UK but are then complaining and slating the park it opens at for not being "reliable" enough. People al...

Re: SW8
Honestly people just need to stop being so serious about this at this point. Firstly the attraction hasn't even been officially confirmed (although it will be). Secondly the attraction isn't opening for over a year and a half and thirdly, it's just a ride! There really no need to start assuming if ...

Re: Towers Loving Care
Good find! I'm not going to pretend they are perfect looking, however that is really going to fit in nicely with the idea of the dark forest taking over. I always envisioned that fence as a partition between the dark forest (Th13teen) and the rest of the area,so the vines coming over does make it ap...

Re: Oakwood
I realise that smaller theme parks are tight for money but this seems like an incredibly poor investment and almost seems quite lazy. When you see what parks like Paultons Park are doing with investments like The Lost Kingdom it doesn't reflect very well on parks like Oakwood that are investing in p...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion
I actually like the new audio. It is hard to explain, but it is very retro. I do like the announcements which say that you have been selected for Oblivion, so it fits in with the Government secret testing facility theme. Thanks for that description, I've only recently said that the attractions in x...

Re: SW8
I am going to avoid talking about the actual ride layout because I'm still unsure whether I'm disappointed or that it will be short but sweet, so I'm going to talk about the ride experience and reasoning instead.I am pleased that SW8 will be located in Katanga Canyon, as it is a fairly low-key area ...

If they are permanently de-activated now, then we can assume the park are listening and that this will be a very popular decision indeed if it proves to be a long-term one.Liam.W wrote:The trims were definitely off yesterday!

Re: Parc Asterix
That looks like a nice layout for a family coaster and the theming looks very detailed, it appears to definitely exceed the theming aspects of many of the older attractions at the park. Its a good addition too, because many of Parc Asterix's coasters are aimed at the thrill market and this will fill...

Re: If you owned the Alton Towers Resort, what would you do
Above anything else, I would create a new authentic themed flagship area to the park. This post is gong to be quite long and detailed to try and support my point with reasoning. So if you want to hear the basis of the idea and not the reasoning behind the proposition, skip the first paragraph. As mu...

So TS on facebook are saying Alton were quizzed about a new maze for this year at Scarecon and they gave the clue, "beauty is only skin deep" Whilst it's a commonly used phrase, it turns out it originates from this fellow: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Overbury" onclick=&quo...

The ride has set on fire, expected to be down to the launch/rollback system becoming too hot. http://i.imgur.com/LFIekX4.jpg Credit to Parks and Coasters Workdwide Facebook. Anyone would think RMC like having their coasters on fire... That's actually a real shame. Dollywood clearly invested a lot o...
