Yeah I noticed that last time I was there, I'm intrigued by how it flips that banking in the sound tunnel, you're going to be wobbling and accelerating, if they make the tunnel dark it would be very disorienting before being shot out into the light and face to face with whatever the themeing element...
I waa on park today and grabbed some pics though all prettu similar to what's been posted already. I did manage to grab a close up of the wire mesh thats on the theming structure http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/xylyx/20170804_140453.jpg And marvelled (without pics) at the banking thats going o...
They may be thinking in terms of keeping the noise down to a minimum. A partial launch just to get you over the gradient change would be easier to contain, noise wise, than a full launch. That change in gradient really intrigues me has there been another coaster that changes like this on the lift hill?
The wording of ground breaking does seem very carefully chosen to me too, but I've speculated on this myself earlier in the thread. I'm most intrigued by the loft hill, watching it to get assembled, even just as bents, is intriguing and does make me ponder about the potential of the magnetic lift sy...
This is getting so intriguing, giving the public viewing windows, and obviously being in the path of the skyrid, was such good idea. I love how speedily things are moving.
That looks about right and it's oriented correctly hmmmm that trench was massive so it's something hefty. I wonder if we'll pass through the legs of it on the way around......
This was my view over the site yesterday I was intrigued to see they'd filled the hole that was shown on TPWW's construction update as that's a hefty foundation, but for what?
That is a lot of Bing, I can tolerate the show, but only because it's Mark Rylance doing the voice of Flop and that man could make reciting the phone book interesting.....cant imagine he'll be making an appearance.
I know this thread is a couple of weeks old but I thought I'd throw my 2 pence worth in. My Chest size is 51 inches stomach is 53" stood up, I've never had any problem with any of the rides at AT due to my chest size and I was bigger the last time I went. The only ride that I've ever had to be ...
Tis strange I got that little kick of excitement when the new image popped up. However I do suspect that it's just showing that the ride will be a Woodie. They have reused ground breaking which could just be being cost effective so they didn't have to rethink the sign. However it could be significan...
Due to the size of that excavation and all the work that is needed to uproot the flume in the more sensitive woodland areas I suspect a bulk of that will indeed be due to the groundwork rather than the ride exclusively. However that is a nice big chunk of money, hopefully enough will go to the ride ...
A sheep in a bikini , Hehe compared to some of the things our European brothers and sisters have in their parks that's nothing. Kids won't care, if they even notice they'll just find it funny.
I'm still excited for SW8, I'm hoping for a nippy little devil that interacts with the lay of the land and that will scratch an itch that rarely gets dealt with. I don't even need a secret element just a solid ride with some nifty themeing. The excitement is definitely less palpable this time around...
I figured it would require some depth but I guess they had to work with the ground, as it was a man made 'lake' it could have been ropey for the foundations. Then again there could be a heap of stuff under the station buildings etc.....
It could just be the angle that the photo was taken at but that's quite an excavation, they're busy bees down at Alton. Though I suppose the milder weather helps.
Gotta agree with Owen here, I would prefer they sort the misalignment and vibration issue than replace them with screens. The indoor queue was bizarre and unusual when it was working properly. If they can find a way to get that back they'll be on to a winner with this monkey.
