Re: Chessington World of Adventures Resort
^ The ride hardware wasn't ordered until after planning was approved. So it'll be quite some time until the rides arrive on site.

Re: Chessington World of Adventures Resort
Alton Towers will refurbish Nemesis over 2021 and reopen it in 2022 in my opinion There's currently no evidence to suggest this is the case. Although it is indeed heavily rumoured that Alton Towers will refurbish Nemesis' track and train, there's been no announcement or even suggestion that this is...

Re: The Blue Barnacle (formerly Black Buccaneer)
It's manufactured by Metallbau Emmeln. The same people who built Mr Monkey's Banana Ride at Thorpe Park. It's a bigger model than that though of course.Chris wrote:Yes looks it, but then the boat is raised up so the angle may be misleading.
Still trying to work out who the manufacturer is...

Re: Tomb Blaster
I went on Tomb Blaster back at the beginning of August and most of the targets weren't turned on and half of the effects were not working. I was so disappointed after hearing that the ride received a revamp. A large number of the targets have been turned off on purpose as part of the changes to th...

Re: The Blue Barnacle (formerly Black Buccaneer)
Seeing as this is the replacement for Black Buccaneer, I thought a new topic would be in order.
Who's looking forward to seeing the new ride when it arrives later this year?

Re: Black Buccaneer
It's a brand new ride. It is no longer going to be a Huss (or so I'm told).rainbowryder wrote:I wonder if it will be the same model or a completely new model using a similar base area. There are new foundations, so we should expect this new ship to be with us for a long time.

Re: Chessington - General Discussion
So it seems Black Buccaneer, Seastorm and Tiger Rock still haven’t completed winter maintenance which is disappointing considering Chessington has been open for the 2019 season for a bit now. Has anyone got any updates on these. I’m going on Weds but looks unlikely they’ll be open soon from what I’...

Re: Safari Lodges Development
It's a shame the bar has been cut, but still has the potential to be a lovely development. Just to confirm, the bar hasn't been 'cut'. It'll be part of a secondary expansion application once the initial set of Lodges is built. Essentially, Chessington ran into huge problems with the original applic...

Re: Chessington - The Future
The field at the corner of the Vampire and Dragon's Fury has been earmarked for development for a fair while, and I could see it nicely housing a wooden coaster, given how they've implemented Wicker Man. It's to my understanding that they can't build on that green area next to Dragons Fury as it is...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion
It's a concept that was drawn up by John Burton. It's not an official concept and one that was put together before he went on to work for Merlin Entertainments.

Re: Thorpe Park - The Future
I doubt it'll re-open. Dragon Falls had a lot of work done to add in new evacuation platforms and steps that are most likely too costly on Loggers and Flume. So I believe it's a H&S thing.

Oh, I know that. The transit system is fab and works great, it's the VR that's the issue.
