Re: Free stuff at the gates.

Just the MiniMax, two boxes did my cereal needs for the next week.

Other than that, the only thing I've got upon exiting a theme park was small tubs of Ice Cream when I was a nipper at Flambards.

Re: Most disappointing day-out at Alton

Me and three friends decided to go the day after a house party without going to bed. Seemed like a great idea at the time, the sun beating down on our car. We get there, hangovers kick in. Grouchy and feeling sorry for ourselves, we nap on the lawns. We're dumb.

Re: Outstanding Customer Service

I'm really happy to read about the great service and how it is appreciated. I work in a busy hotel that is expected to adhere to high, high standards and it is irksome when people don't appreciate the hard work that you are putting in. Unfortunately there is a percentage of the population who cannot...

No snow in Blackpool! Blackpool Pleasure Beach have been testing their coasters all week, including the Big One! Even in the finest of weather you risk your life on blackpool coasters.  Poor comparisson really. Reminds me of Feb last year at BPP watching a fellow brush settled snow of Grand Nash, i...

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

And the level of pedantry on this thread just hit new levels! I personally would rather they didn't have a baby monster appear - much better see the egg cracking and the lights go out. What the mind paints as a threat is far more terrifying than animatronics. Totally agree. Combine this with the so...

Re: Shocking Seaworld Incident

Push come to shove, if it were me in the ride hosts position and there was no clear definitive answer in the training I'd been given or whatever accompanying information the manufacturer had produced alongside the ride, I wouldn't allow the guest to ride. Yes, it's a 0.1% chance that anything harmfu...

Re: You Know You're Addicted to Alton Towers (And TTF) When

I had many dreams about Thirteen before it opened. Normally of the kind where it's opening day but theuniverse seems to conspire against you and you never actually get to, that sort of thing. And this is surely for the dreams topic? I had similar frustrating dreams where the ride would stop before ...

I'm hoping at least one the themeing structures is a large mock guardtower. To add to the unsettling feeling of ill ease and secrecy.

Re: what do you think would be a good area re-theme?

What about a polar/snow themed area? That would certainly be a fresh theme for the park to explore and they could be very creative. The main area could be a village with shops and food stands disguised as tents made from (faux) hide. The entrance could feature fake snow and ice which gradually beco...

Re: Alton Towers Dreams: How Obsessed Are You?

I have had a fair few that follow a simple formula: being in the park and trying to make my way to Nemesis but for varying, I can't get there. They're very frustrating. Also in the months before Thirteen opened I dreamed about riding it a lot. The surprise element was always different and usually re...

Re: Wizarding World of Harry Potter???

I always thought that Hogwarts was in Scotland due to the scenery and long train journet from Kings Cross.

Ergo: M&Ds re-theme.

Yeah, thanks guys. I can't really think of any negative experiences I have had with any AT staff this year. A big thanks to the guy who let me and my friends ride the flume 9 times in a row as it had claming effects on red wine hangovers.

Re: Is it me or has THORPE PARK gone down hill?

I went last week and it was quite good for reliability and queues. Saw broke down once and that was also the longest queue we had (45 mins). Twice we got on stealth (different times of the day) with only about 15 minutes wait both times. Yet still I struggle to really enjoy myself at Thorpe. I think...

Re: Alton Towers Marketing/PR Stunts Topic

Does anyone else think that 'Coaster Cuties' sounds more like a cute baby competition. It's almost like they had that idea then figured people would complain about putting cute babies in Thirteen's trains and lazily re-directed the plan.
