Re: What reminds you of theme park magic that isn't a theme park?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-uSCaAT_7I This song will always remind me of a childhood holiday at Blackpool Pleasure Beach when they had this and other 90s dance tunes playing loudly on their radio station during the evening, going on the rides past sunset, then walking back to the Bed and Brea...

Re: What reminds you of theme park magic that isn't a theme park?
As a kid it was always being in a car and going into heavily wooded areas of road. That always reminded me of the ride up to Alton Towers and the build up of excitement. The fact that it's relatively well hidden away within the countryside is such a unique and special thing.

Re: When Is Immersive TOO Immersive?
The John Wardley era of attractions really did make you feel like you're in another place. THIS. :) Although, I have to say I watched a documentary about the process involved coming up with the story and the theme for the wickerman, and I was actually impressed with how thorough it was! I can't rem...

Re: When Is Immersive TOO Immersive?
I think it just comes down to the approach and how user-friendly it is. I know that a lot of the more role-play elements that were planned for Galaxies Edge has now pretty much been phased out as well as restaurant menu items properly labelled with that they contain rather than just an obscure name ...

Re: Disney General Discussion
Disney have announced a 10 episode documentary series covering their theme parks and attractions. As far as I'm aware, outside of marketing material and Walt Disney talking about Disneyland on his show, I don't think they've done full length documentaries in the past so this could be really interes...

Re: The Retro Squad - 2021
I think its great that the park have invested in a few flat rides that really are needed right now. What i really hope is that they don't become a permanent addition, But if they were to, that the park would theme them properly to fit within the specific areas.

That whole area is a goldmine of space. There's the unused coaster corner area that could make for another indoor dark ride attraction. plus there's the theatre, and the old nick building too!Coaster Chall wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 3:14 pm I wonder what could happen to the Nickelodeon building though?

Re: The World of David Walliams - *Delayed until 2021*
I really REALLY hope they carry on with this franchise right through that area of the park. It wouldn't have been my first choice, but i think there's enough stories and enough ideas for the whole of that area to recieve some kind of Walliams treatment :) i'm still a bit confused as to where this r...

Re: Creative Ideas For new AT Attractions
https://mattsdesignsblog.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/shrinking-room-walls-closed-in.jpg I thought this might be fun - a room where the walls close in you. The partitions are on wheels and pushed in and out by hydrolic pistons. I think it would be best if they moved so slow you could barely tell and...

Re: New for 2021 - Fairground Flat Rides
i'm apprehensive. it's great the fact that the park are addressing the lack of flats now, but the whole temporary thing makes me feel a little nervous that things wont really get replaced with a proper estabolished well themed flat ride, which is what the park is really screaming out for.

Re: The World of David Walliams - *Delayed until 2021*
I watched some of the David Walliams tv/film adaptations over the Christmas period and I have to say I enjoyed them. A fond favourite was The Boy in the Dress. Gangsta Granny was also very good, and actually hit me right in the feels towards the end. Really hoping the ride pulls off the story really...

Re: The Future of Oblivion
Absolutely agree! I wanna see either the guy from the queue videos return or some new people come in as part of a new extended storyline based on the Don't Look Down Group that helps the main guy manipulate the public and capture them for the Oblivion experience. i've not been to the park in such a...

Re: The Future of Oblivion
Hearing the rumour of Nemesis getting an overhaul/re-track I'd love to see the possibility of Oblivion receive the same attention in a few years’ time, BUT... just after the tunnel, I’d love it if they added a new element like a barrel roll or something. Back in its day, the whole world’s first v...

Nemesis could get overhauled! https://www.lifthillsandthrills.com/nemesis-at-alton-towers-set-for-a-major-overhaul/ big news indeed! but welcome news regardless! The ride is getting on a bit now, i always thought due to its popularity the ride would never be removed but just retracked much like Hul...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion
is there no way possible that a new huss top spin could be put back in Ripsaws place simply as Ripsaw 2.0? the restraints for the Suspended version look a lot more comfortable. I just think its rubbish all these flat rides have been removed over the years and nothing has really replaced them.

Re: The Future of Hex
I think with the advent of projection mapping technology I think the ride could be "plussed" quite a bit during the pre-shows and during the main ride. It's still one of the best themed darkd rides in the UK, plus there's also the legend/tale that strengthens it's tie to the park!
